RESEARCH NEEDED: New Durbin Amendment !!!

    Activists,

Our DC sources have just informed me that Senator Durbin has submitted a new amendment to dress up the pig!

I'm told the new amend is

    SA 2919

I'm also told it does two things.

    1. Pulls out the In-State Tuition language while leaving in the military enrollment language.

    2. Sets an upper age limit for application at 30 years of age.

We need fast research on this to analyze this new amend and adjust our strategy.

I don't see it listed on the Thomas Register of the Library of Congress yet.

If it doesn't do anything about the massive fraud potential in the application process, there won't be enough lipstick on this PIG.

This is obviously a big problem. Durbin is giving a little to gain a lot. There has no doubt been back door dealing and Durbin must feel that this shift will get him votes of enough fence sitters to potentially make all the difference.

The text of SA 2919 has not yet been received from GPO
Bills are generally sent to the Library of Congress from the Government Printing Office a day or two after they are introduced on the floor of the House or Senate. Delays can occur when there are a large number of bills to prepare or when a very large bill has to be printed.

We will likely never see the complete text of this amendment before it is voted on. Possibly, our only chance is to see if it is read on the Senate floor, but even that may not happen with the time limit because of all the other pending amendments. Does anyone have an in with the Heritage Foundation, or know Robert Rector or someone who works there? They had the completer text of the Shamnesty Bill well before it was even available to the Senators. They will surely have the text of this amendment in their possesion.
