E-Verify Anecdote
I recently went to a local Burger King and I noticed that not all the people working behind the counter were people of hispanic ethnicity who could barely speak English (I have nothing against people of hispanic ethnicity, they just tend to be the illegal aliens around here), like it was the last time I went there. The young lady who took my order was hispanic, but she spoke perfect English. I noticed that the other people behind the counter who were speaking to each other were also speaking English instead of Spanish.
I didn't think too much about it until I got my order and went over to the condiment stand against the wall. There on the wall were two placards, one in English and another in Spanish that said in big, bold, red letters: This Establishment Uses E-Verify.
I then understood why the change in the type of employees. Thanks to E-Verify, American citizens now had the jobs that used to be filled by illegals.
So much for the "jobs Americans won't do," huh?All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing. -Edmund Burke
