    Early morning voting

    Hey all-
Dropped spouse off at work around 5:20 this morning and thought I'd just drive over, sit in the car and read til the polls opened at 6am-WRONG!
I quickly realized I needed to find the closest parking space so I could go stand in the line that stretched at least half the block outside of the place! It very steadily grew after I got in,it was only half as long when I left at 6:30. I later learned it was somehow a polling place for 2 areas but still I was suprised at the number of people-especially at 5:30am!!!

I must admit I am quite anxious about todays outcome, my stomach is already in knots. Well, off to work now, check in with y'all later.

A talking head on CNN is fretting that "something can still go wrong" and Obama could lose. I guess they are no longer trying to hide their bias or their excitement at having an unqualified, racist, terrorist thug who wants to send our electricity bills through the roof.

I just got back from voting and I am NOT IMPRESSED with the way they do it here in Indiana. I voted on the hackable voting machine with no receipt, not even the traditional "I Voted" sticker. No tangible proof I was even there. I was also the ONLY VOTER IN THE BUILDING AT THE TIME. My machine did take out the time to warn me I voted for multiple parties on my ballot and ask me if I was sure that was correct. Well only one person, a democrat, was running for surveyor. I voted for him lol. I also voted for a few republicans and a half a dozen Libertarians. There was some confusion because my "ID" was my passport. My passport was amended to reflect a new married last name. The rocket scientist, even though shown the amendment on the last page, was confused. Finally a supervisor stopped by to check in and cleared things up. All in all, it went without a hitch, except for the fact I do not feel comfortable with my vote being vulnerable to a hacker.

Your experience does not instill confidence that is for sure. Your husband may or may not remember that in the UK they still use paper ballots and each individual has their name manually crossed off the electoral list each center has at their disposal. Once you have put your cross on the paper you put it into a locked box. I know this sounds somewhat medieval compared to electronic machines but it does seem to work, if only because it is so simple, i.e. no fangled technology.

With regard to the passport I never fail to be surprised by how many people have not seen a passport before, here in Indiana.

    i have voted.
i expected there to be alot of people at my polling place but when i pulled up one hour after the polls open and there was a total of 6 cars. myself and two others walked in behind each other, one was told the place wasnt his, but i knew it was mine,

SO in and out in less then 2 minutes.
paper ballot so everything is cool.

the person running and wanting to turn the US into a marxist and socialist program DID NOT get my vote.

If you are in Madison County, a friend of mine who is on the Democratic committee here has warned me they are looking forward to the riots tonight regardless of the outcome. The younger ones are excited because they have never "flipped a car" before.

They are reporting that some of our polling stations in Wkgn are asking for ID's. We have had voter registration fraud locally.

Wonder if that will mean some people in my area won't vote today...

My stomach is in knots too. What an important day in America.
