To Ease California’s Education, Budget Woes—End Immigrat
Although the Lodi Unified School District passed a budget for next year by using $7.7 million in State Fiscal Stabilization Funding from the federal government, what will happen in future years as California’s financial crisis grows is unclear---and frightening. [Lodi Unified Passes $246 Million Budget, by Jennifer Bonnet, Lodi News-Sentinel, June 16, 2009]
The deep and ongoing cuts in California’s education funding are an assault on what was once the most progressive system in the country.
Exactly 160 years ago, Robert Semple, the president of the California Constitutional Convention, said: “If the people are to govern themselves, they should be qualified to do it. They must be educated, they must educate their children; they must provide means for the diffusion of knowledge and the progress of enlightened principles.â€

California, I think you need to end illegal immigration in your state and move to private school vouchers. I think to it's time for Americans to educate their children through the private sector. California has all the high technology companies and professionals it needs to turn its educational system into a leading educational example for our country. But you can no longer be tied to government.
I've discussed this on some other forums, and you really need to consider it as all Americans should think hard and long about this. This is no rebuke against our educational professionals who teach in public schools, this is a way for them to start new careers in the private sector working for American-owned educational corporations that operate on the principles of accountability, performance and competition to provide the highest level of education at the lowest possible cost in an environment where parents and students are treated as the valued customers they are and abide the motto: "If you didn't learn, then we didn't teach."
It's time for Americans to entrust the private sector with the task of educating the work force it's expected to hire and use vouchers to get the ball rolling. Government can still be involved but the experience of the private schools, religious and secular, shows we need new business models and we need to privatize as much as possible to the extent possible.
Look into it, think about it, add it to your list of things to do that might solve problems, because I do believe the time for school vouchers has arrived in the United States.
DC public schools spends $25,000 a student and has facilities I wouldn't let a stray cat stay in. DC private schools, some of the best in the country, including the school where the Obama girls go, average $12,600 a year in tuition. As you look across the country, here and there, you see a similar scenario, where the cost of private schools is much lower than the cost of public schools, when the opposite should be the case.
We're being stiffed is what it is. Someone is siphoning money out of our school districts or wasting it on things which are of no educational value, so it's time to pull the plug and do something different.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Well, it's pretty hard to teach those who do not want to learn. Schools are spending millions to feed illegals and the children of illegals, provide materials in spanish, hire translators, etc. And then these kids don't really care about getting an education, nor do their parents. Gangs are thriving in the schools now. Try teaching math or science in a room with rival gang members.
