Winning the lottery isn‘t quite what it’s cracked up to be. At least not for one illegal immigrant, Jose Antonio Cua-Toc, who won a $750,000 jackpot in Georgia but was reluctant to cash in his winnings for fear of alerting authorities to his immigration status. To avert danger, Cua-Toc asked his boss to claim the cash prize for him, but Erick Cervantes and his wife allegedly stole the money and started spending it all.

    That’s when Cua-Toc lost it.

According to Fox News, Cua-Toc was then arrested after allegedly threatening to kill Cervantes and his wife.

Well, the authorities certainly know about Cua-Toc’s immigration status now.

Now, he apparently has a week and a half to leave the country on his own accord or face deportation. But Cua-Toc is standing his ground, fighting the deportation and suing Cervantes to return his lottery winnings.

During Kelly’s Court, Lis Wiehl argued that since Cua-Toc couldn’t present a valid social security number, which is required to claim lottery winnings, he was exempt from collecting the prize in the first place.

Mark Eiglarsh, however, argued that Cua-Toc’s immigration status does not affects his legal right to recover money that he won lawfully.

Watch the comedy of errors unfold below:

I have in front of me a lottery ticket from Virginia for last week....
On the back in ittsy-bitsy print it says ...."To obtain prises over $800.00 you need a valid government-issued photo identification and proof of Social Security number....Green card is also required if you are not U.S. citizen"

so...being illegal....you are out of luck

Casinos are quite stringent on who they give winnings to.

A felon is not eligible to collect anything over $1,000 at a time. Same applies to an illegal alien.

Winnings over a certain sum, usually one or two thousand, depending on state laws are not given to either a felon or anyone not having a valid photo ID and social security number.

Eric Holder can surely fix this for this poor, abused, illegal alien to get his winnings.

Perhaps he'll sue, with LaRaza's help and win an even million dollar settlement.

Illegal immigrant may stay to fight lottery dispute

    By BECKY PURSER

WARNER ROBINS -- An illegal immigrant who filed a civil lawsuit over the ownership of a $750,000 lottery ticket has won the right to stay in the country to fight his legal battle, his immigration attorney says.
Jose Antonio Cua-Toc, 25, of Bonaire, was released from the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin on an order of supervision Wednesday, said Julio E. Moreno, an Atlanta immigration attorney representing Cua-Toc.

“This is only going to be temporary,â€

How on earth is the guy going to prove that he bought the ticket? This is a pathetic abuse of our court system. The guy is here illegally. Oh, I forgot, our illegal immigrant detention facilities are too full of illegal aliens, so we can't arrest any more . It is funny how we have thousands of old school, and public transportation buses waiting in boneyards, that could potentially be restored, just to deliver these folks home at a fraction of the cost it would be to keep them here.
