Illegal aliens can collect on CA lottery winnings

Happened to be flipping through the channels on TV today and saw a woman on the California Big Spin Lottery show who did not speak a word of English. She was being interviewed in Spanish and when asked what she would do if she won, she told the announcer she would go to visit her family in Mexico, who she hasn't been able to go visit in 16 years (yeah, 16 years here and still refuses to learn English, what a shock). Then they showed her family in the audience, there's her husband, who did not speak English either of course, and their 7 kids.

Now they did not come right out and say she was illegal, but why would a person not be able to visit their family in Mexico for 16 years unless they were afraid of not being able to get back? And having a crapload of kids and not knowing a word of English, sound familiar? I wondered if illegals are allowed to get lottery winnings and the CA Lottery website says non-citizens are allowed to collect any winnings. WTF is up with that? Isn't hitting the anchor baby and welfare/food stamp lottery good enough for these lawbreaking moochers?

BTW, she ended up spinning the Big Wheel and winning $40, 000. I wonder if she'll have to pay up any taxes on that? How does she do that anyway, with someone's stolen SS# no doubt?

Well, since everything else in this country seems to be for sale, why not lottery tickets to illegals. Perhaps non-English speakers should prove their legitimacy in this country before collecting anything, as we probably already give this person food stamps, free healthcare, schooling for the munchkins, etc.

I think lottery winnings should be denied to illegal aliens. How can they win a state lottery in a state they aren't supposed to be in because they're in a country they aren't supposed to be in?

Ban illegal aliens from playing the lottery by announcing in order to win and receive they must be in our country legally to collect.

Contact the California state loto commission and ask.

Texas doesn't ask either and when they leave I bet we loose the tax revenue too.

Taxes are automatically deducted before the winner gets any money, I believe. I wonder if they collect welfare for their 7 anchors? If they do, someone should let the welfare office know that she and her husband were on TV. One way to get more welfare is to claim to be single and dad not living with them. If she lied (HA!) on her application, they can get her for fraud.

Any group that has a member win the lottery loses even more money on it. California illegal aliens as a group probably have a hundred ticket buyers who have lost a dollar for each individual to win sixty. People can win the lottery without ever being in America. It does not surprise me that one of the illegal aliens won so many of them play it.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Any person over 18 can play and collect winnings here. Taxes are withheld. I don't know about the welfare, wic, Calgrant, etc. I don't know if the state is up to crossreferencing that or not. I met a fraud investigator for county, and I do remember him saying that there was so much fraud within the welfare system they could not keep up with it all. Just like regular crime, they hope to deter some of it.

It all sounds VERY FAMILIAR! I would doubt the State of California is denying anything to these illegal invaders, which would include lottery winnings...
