Can this be looked at as a time for true change for us?

This whole scenario should start the process for major change. I think by the time the democrats continue to destroy what we have left in this country it will push a lot of people somewhere else!!

Could this time not be used to restructure the 'republican' party or make strong another party??

Now is the time for us to push for a new party and new leadership. Like most of you, I am so totally tired of republicans and those who claim to be conservative but are not. John McCain was the prime example of that.

We have got to start now to change!!! How do we do this? I am ready to change our government!!

I agree, the republican party has been destroyed by the Bush family. I think that the best thing to happen would be to try to convince the conservitives that are left in the party to start a new one. The problem is that our country may not survive the dems rule. I mean that in a serious way because the courts will be so stacked that they will userp the legislative process. Last night was maybe the final chapter for the form of Gov our forfathers gave us.

Sad to say I believe America will need to hit rock bottom before necessary
changes are made, in my 65+ years it's been my experience that people
will not react in any endeavor until absolutely necessary.

One other thing if you have children of school age do all in your power
to remove them from public schools where they appear to be taught
that the Constitution and patriotism mean nothing.
I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

On another thread here I mentioned last night that I bought "defeatobama2012.org" and ".info" and got thrashed for it a bit.

The whole point there is to try to rebuild the conservative base, come up with better GOP platforms, etc.

There's also the option of pushing the Constitution party, although I'm not sure any Constitution will be left when Jim Jones gets done with us.

I don't think Bush destroyed the Republican Party. The News Media has been able to define what is important, highlight the individuals and agendas it wants to, accentuate mistakes of Republicans when expedient. If you ever try to discuss real issues with Democrats you will find that their minds are already made up. And they always think I am a Republican--when I am really independent.

I guess my point is, I am truly SICK of the parties. They have lost all their values and do not represent the people any more . . . only themselves.

What do we do as citizens to start a new 'I hate to say party' that represents us the people?? We are truly not represented any more as a whole. Only a select few listen and represent us.

I noticed barney frank won again 202,000 votes to 75,000. How can this happen?? This man is a JOKE!! I now it is a liberal state but these same people keep getting elected??? john kerry 1,900,000 to 911,000. These people are IDIOTS . . . they are representing America, making laws, stealing money. The biggest joke was john mccain running as a republican. He is NO republican and that is why we lost.

    THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!!

That's another thing to be concerned about........a move being made to outlaw alternative schooling and all children being mandated to attend public schools (aka government controlled institutions) where they will be conditioned toward the ideologies of Obama's government.

Very likely considering that Ayers is being discussed as his choice to head up education.

I hear your concerns....to give kids an unbiased, respectful education. Unfortunately, we are now up against a political machine which will continue to harbor and protect teachers based on tenure (translation: length of faithful union membership) rather than ability or commitment to principles. In this state there is a ballot initiative to base teacher's rewards against a set of criteria rather than length of time on the job. I am not sure how it has turned out in the vote. More conservative states might have a better chance of passing such measures, unlike this state where we're bluer than the midnight sky.

But I am also disturbed by people who homeschool. In this day when it always takes two incomes to support a family, what kind of integrity does a sole-breadwinner family evidence to everyone else? You would either have to be remarkably intelligent and productive or else rather shifty.

Let's revive the Bull Moose/Progressive party.
    I always liked Teddy R.

    From Wikipedia:
"To destroy this invisible Government, to dissolve the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day." - 1912 Progressive Party Platform, attributed to Theodore Roosevelt[1] and quoted again in his autobiography[2] where he connects Trusts and monopolies (sugar interests, Standard Oil, etc.) to Woodrow Wilson and Howard Taft, and consequently both major political parties.

Yeah- I could live with that.
