    known problem

    This is a know problem with RFID. Its actually a worse problem than the video shows. The scanner in the video was designed to work only at close ranges. It is not difficult to make a scanner which will work at longer distances. In Europe there is an added risk. Euro bank notes have RFID chips. Fortunately, this problem is easily solved. The signal is easily blocked by an electrically conductive material. I'm surprised no one has produced wallets which are lined with such a material. U.S. passports have a blocking material built into the covers; the RFID can only be read when the passport is open.
