Thread: New law on anchor babys.

Bush just signed a law for Illegals having anchor babys. They must now show proof that the child was born in the US before any aids or services will be provided.

How hard is that I ask? The hospital is an easy proof for that what kind of a stupid law is that anyway?

I'm with nitty, the law does seem a little senseless. The only advantage I could see to the law is if the illegals were having their babies delivered by midwives, relatives, friends, etc. out of their own homes (no birth certificate), but we know that's not the case. Of course, as far as we know, the law probably makes a Bible entry acceptable.

The counterfeiters will probably rally to the illegals' desire for fake birth certificates, as they do anyway.

The 14th Amendment has to be change for a real affect to happen.
Anchor babies are devistationg this country because the majority of illegal aliens children are born here and not brought over the border. Most all of them benefit from social services, food stamps, medicaid, school free lunches and the list goes on and on.

Actually, the legislative intent of Amendment XIV is clear. The problem is the courts.

Bush can sign Bills into law until the cows come home. The question is... will the laws be enforced?
If this new law, is anything like the old laws already on the books concerning illegal aliens, it will never be enforced

I would think that what this law is getting at is that the illegals are probably claiming their children born in Mexico, but having brought them here quite young, telling our officials they were born here, but do not have their birth certificate.

I can bet this is not only happening here in Oregon, but the state workers have been taking their word for it, and.....I can guarantee it is happening in California, at the least.

I would hope that this will begin to clear the books of many illegals getting benefits for their kids born elsewhere, and that many state budgets will begin to flourish instead of languish.

Everyone, keep your fingers crossed that not only will this be enforced nationally, but also with each individual state so that America will stop paying for those coming here illegally, that would attempt to defraud our system.

The law already exist. His signing a bill was unnecessary. Anchor babies already get all of the same benefit as american citizens and maybe more because they are low income.
