Republicans Block DREAM Act, Another Old Media Lie
By Warner Todd Huston

The Old Media is up to its old tricks again, this time making the GOP the fall guy for the failure of the latest immigration bill. Nearly every news outlet is reporting that the Republicans have blocked the DREAM Act, http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101218/ap_ ... n_students many of these reports even say so right in the headline. The truth, however, is not that the GOP blocked it, but that the Democrats didn’t get all its own members to vote for it.
In fact, if the Democrats could have gotten five more of their own members to vote “yeaâ€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I do tend to agree that as far as it goes Reps did block it. But from another perspective it was Dems who destroyed it.
I don't think all of us and all the Reps are heartless bastards. I'd bet that many Reps and citizens would have supported a proper "Dream Act" under the right tems. I know numerous potential amendments that failed because of Dems that simply said no way. One I know of was by a Rep who supported the principle of the dream act but asked for it to be amended it that before the dream act would take effect and take applications the border was required to be secured first. As dems first refused to wait on the DA until after the border was secured this was an attempt to pass it with the condition that first things first was border security. Another by Reps was to grant amnesty visa contract saying they could not ever sponsor family members 2 versions died one for immediate family and relatives and another on just relatives.
Maybe if Dems actually went to the table to "Compromise" which is what Obama says he's now about they could get support. However they don't care about those 250k who may be worthy but simply want a sneaky mass amnesty along with keeping the border wide open like a 1$ hooker.

I have no problem with the media depicting the Republicans as the ones who blocked the vote on the Dream Act. I'm proud of them. They stood up for American Kids, their dreams, educations, opportunities and futures like they're supposed to do.
Hopefully all American voters who care about American Kids will remember this vote in 2012, 2014 and 2016 and vote for more Republicans who wan to stop illegal immigration.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

I don't think ANY version of the DREAM act would be good. Any amount of moneys that the illegals gain is not good. As an American college student I was offended that they would even have this attitude of thinking they are more entitled to an education than our own citizens!
