Ending Illegal Immigration: A Risk-Benefit Analysis
Ending Illegal Immigration: A Risk-Benefit Analysis

Wait! Don’t build that fence along our southern border just yet. We may not really need it any more than we need one on the northern border with Canada. In order to fix the problem of illegal immigration we must first understand why we have an estimated 12 million illegals in the United States. A Risk-Benefit Analysis model provides insight into both the causes of the problem and the solution to it.

illegals
Over 1 million legal immigrants enter the United States each year. WE do not need the illegal aliens residing in the United States. Over 1 million legal immigrants is a high number. We must reduce legal immigration. Having said that, we do not need illegal aliens. They must be deported. The illegal aliens are using our tax dollars. Americans should be using those tax dollars. We must not provide social services to illegal aliens. The reason we have the current economic crisis is because the government gives our tax dollars to illegal aliens. We must stop that NOW.

NO, build the wall too!
Deported illegals just come right back. And with the cartels now shooting at our law enforcement from the Mexico side, we need our military manning that wall.As Aristotle said, “Tolerance and apathy are the first virtue of a dying civilization.â€

The article is fairly correct that cutting the benefits while raising the risks for illegals and employers of illegals would likely curb the illegal immigration issue at least 99%.
However we still need to secure our border with a wall and a military force for a few other reasons.
1. Drug smugglers and importation..... think those drug smugglers come to the US for jobs and social benefits?
2. Terrorism. The US still remains #1 appealing place for terrorists to strike given the opportunity. Think those terrorists are so concerned about jobs and social benefits? As long as they can recieve funds from overseas they can easily hide under the radar.
There's a couple smaller reasons also but these are the main 2 I can think of. Also keep in mind Mexico will pretty much let in whoever has the money to get in but Canada does have stricter policies and does do some checks at least.
