Eric Trump: Trump Cabinet Won't Include 'Washington Insiders'

A Trump administration won't have a cabinet stacked with "Washington insiders," according to the GOP nominee's son, Eric Trump.

In an interview with John Catsmiatidis on his radio show "The Cats Roundtable" aired Sunday, the son of Donald Trump said his father will look for "the best and the brightest."

"I think one thing my father will do — it's going to be a different regime," he said in remarks posted by The Hill ahead of the show's airing.

"It's going to be different people. He's going to go out and find the most immensely competent and capable people. These aren't going to be the Washington insiders who have been there for a hundred years and are the very reason why the system in Washington is very broken."

"The amount of people who are not only calling but he's speaking with is incredible and these are the best and the brightest," he added.

Trump has floated former Goldman Sachs executive Steve Mnuchin as a possible choice to head the Treasury Department, Others could include Alabama Sen. Jeff Session, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

I like Eric Trump, but I am not to keen on him being the messenger for such an important part of a Presidential administration. Any GS executive at the Treasury is no change from prior administrations. It is the fox guarding the hen house.

oldman Sachs has heeded the advice of a political statement attributed to Law professor William Black, "the highest return on assets is always a political contribution." It is widely known that Goldman Sachs dictates legislation, oversight and enforcement upon the United States economy; simultaneously preforming the roles of the SEC, Congress as well as the Federal Reserve. In 2009 Goldman Sachs had the most profitable year in its history, and this post-crisis record was available because of the charter set up by Henry Paulson (the Treasure Secretary that was previously CEO of the bank the legislation is bailing out) and Timothy Geithner. Both names ring synonymous with Goldman Sachs even though the latter has never been directly employed in the banking industry. The recognition of Goldman Sachs influence on the Executive Branch is found in Michelle Malkin’s April 2010 article, “All the President’s Goldman Sachs Men.” The article illuminates Goldman’s cozy relationship with the Obama Administration noting his financial strategists consist of Larry Summers, Timothy Geithner, Gary Gensler and Mark Patterson.

Mnuchin is the Finance Chair for the Trump campaign and hasn't been with Goldman-Sachs since 2002 when he left the company. It was around 2002 that the writing was on the wall that these companies were doing things that were going to lead to a collapse with the derivatives. Perhaps that's why Mnuchin left, he saw what was happening and wanted no part of it. Elizabeth Dole fought valiantly on the Senate Banking Committee along with Chuck Hagel to stop these practices and restore regulations to prevent it, but of course were outvoted. Not everyone who has worked for a company that went bad is bad, especially those who saw, said no thanks, and left.
