THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING

You know, most of us are getting a huge does of
issues and politics here on a daily basis , We know the
issues , we know where these people stand

    The part WE DON'T GET

Is that 99.95% of Americans are deaf , dumb and blind
    to all this

Joe blow will go vote in a primary and see a farmilar name like
McCain and hit the switch , they won't know why , nor do they care

Now if you put next to McCain that he authored the amnesty
bill with Kennedy , do you think they might vote different ?

How about if you put next to Romney or Pauls name "Does not favor amnesty for illegal aliens"

Do you think that might make a difference?

Americans don't have a clue folks , at least not many of them

I've spoken to my daughters friends , they are all voting for Hillary , why?
"because she is cool" is the number one answer

    We are in serious trouble

That would be a good idea for the primaries and the actual election process. They should make a list of each of the issues under each candidates name and where they stand on those issues. Maybe people would vote more intelligently then.

Most people vote on name recog , they don't have a clue
    about the issues

Walk up to someone on the street , ask about McCain , they will say "oh, hes a war hero"

Ask about Romney " oh , hes a mormon , I think hes running for pres"

their vote is decided not only by name recognition, but also by if they look presidential. or like clinton (mr) he got it twice because he is very charismatic.

Romney is definitely the most presidential looking. He presents himself well, speaks well, keeps his cool under stress.

I thought we should change the entire system away from the candidates and towards the issues. The primaries would showcase about 10 issues voters in the primary would choose the top 5 issues that must be addressed. The candidates would have to forge their campaigns around the issues and provide voters with their plans. They would have to be accountable to their plan and be sued if they practiced "deceptive trade" The voters would become acquainted with the issues over the candidates this way and we could avoid the American idol situation we now have.

I doubt that 99%.9 of the people even watch the debates.

Also, what gets me is they are going to vote for a particular party no matter what, and to heck with what the candidate is going to do to this country.

I have learned such a lesson in the last two years. I have just come to realize it is not the government's fault what goes on in this country, it is the people's fault. We the people get the government we want and deserve.

We just happen to be in the position of being on the same boat the sheeple are, and they are bound and determined in large numbers to sink our boat.

I find that is the case too. Most Americans vote along party lines without even researching the issues and knowing where their candidate/party stands on them.

Keep in mind though, that Bush tried to push amnesty and he didn't get his way. Congress decided against it. The president doesn't have as much power as many people think.

You are right! I run into people that never heard about the amnesty bill last summer, that McCain and Kennedy tried to push on us...And I've talked to a few who think Obama would be cool, because he would be the first black president!
