    Farrakhan: US Took Mexican Land

Farrakhan Laments: ‘Sad That Mexico Lost California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico‘ Through American ’Trickery’; Soon Whites ‘Will Be the Minority’ In the Country They ‘Took’

The day before Memorial Day, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan lamented that Mexico had lost territory to America due to the Mexican-American War and disparaged American military action around the globe.

The poorly-timed rant took place in San Diego in front of a partially Hispanic audience. The oft controversial minister began by disparaging “White Mexicans” of Spanish decent before announcing that “Africans were in that part of the World [Mexico] maybe before [Mexicans] got there.” The minister lamented that illegal Mexicans are called “aliens” and declared that Americans “ought to be praising the Mexicans because we living on land that was once theirs.”
Farrakhan went on to declare that he was “sadthat Mexico lost California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado” after the Mexican-American War “trickery.” This led to the minister generalizing about the American people as “a people that make war and blame the person they makin’ war on and then take your land.”
However, The minister sounded overjoyed that minority births outnumber white births in America, according to recent US Census reports. Given the news, Farrakhan noted that white people will soon “be the minority in their own country that they took from the native people.” He also projected that minorities will soon “become governor of every state.”

    Key Farrakhan Quotes:

    • They make you think that the original Mexicans are all white Mexicans. I don’t have anything against a white Mexican, but you’re not the original. What language did the original Mexicans speak? Why are you speaking Spanish? You’re not Spain. You’re not Spanish.”

It is sad that this man judges people by the color of their skin instead of the content of their character. JMO

Farrakhan is either glossing over or does not know about a lot of historical details. To start off, New Mexico, Arizona, and California never belonged to Mexico in the first place. Those areas belonged to U.S. Native American groups and not the Aztecs. The Spanish Empire with help from Mestizo soldiers andfrom Mexico colonized those areas and the Natives. The Catholic Church also had some involvement. Farrakhan likely doesn't know about the atrocities that Juan de la Onate and his Mestizo soldiers committed towards Pueblo Indians in New Mexico after he was ordered to colonize that area. He also doesn't know about the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 in which Pueblo Indian groups attacked and forced out Spanish and Mestizo colonizers out of New Mexico for several years. Colonization and atrocities happened in Arizona and California as well. But illegal lovers continue to push around the idea that parts of the U.S. always belonged to Mexico and the reality is that they never did in the first place. Farrakhan and others are likely still in the dark about a lot of historical facts and incidents.

If the people in those states wanted this better ask themselves what will happen to the benefits of the USA? Who will trade with this "new country"? What's the requirement for joining its military? Who will be in charge?

    Mexican-American War

    Santa Anna in 1847

In 1846, the United States declared war on Mexico. Santa Anna wrote to Mexico City saying he had no aspirations to the presidency, but would eagerly use his military experience to fight off the foreign invasion of Mexico as he had in the past. President Valentín Gómez Farías was desperate enough to accept the offer and allowed Santa Anna to return. Meanwhile, Santa Anna had secretly been dealing with representatives of the United States, pledging that if he were allowed back in Mexico through the U.S. naval blockades, he would work to sell all contested territory to the United States at a reasonable price. Once back in Mexico at the head of an army, Santa Anna reneged on both of these agreements. Santa Anna declared himself president again and unsuccessfully tried to fight off the United States invasion. (However, his actions did inspire the sea shanty "Santianna".)
