February 23rd Immigration fight in Arkansas

    :P

    http://www.examiner.com/immigration-in- ... t-arkansas

HB1292 THE BILL TO PROHIBIT ILLEGAL ALIENS FROM RECEIVING ANY STATE BENEFIT EXCEPT IN INSTANCES OF EMERGENCY OR WHEN LIFE-SAVING MEASURES ARE REQUIRED. So far, HB1292 is the special order of business for the House State Agencies and Government Affairs Committee, which meets at 9am on Wednesday February 23rd. We would like people who support the effort to reduce illegal immigration to voice their support for HB1292. You can show up in the Committee Room or stand around the State Capitol. You can make and bring signs, along as they don't have stakes or something that could be used as a "weapon". The Committee should meet for at least 1 1/2 hours, maybe longer.

The Arkansas Legislator website is not updated with cosponsors or events. Stay linked up with conservative blogs and email list to keep track of updates and talking points. You can RSVP at this facebook event

"This is real important, arrive early as you walk into the meeting room to your right is a sign in to speak sheet, they don't allow signs in the committee meeting. What you want to do is discredit the states expert witnesses who oppose the bill the media did all the work for me dumbasses! Before the meeting you want to e-mail and call to ask about your e-mail to the committee chairman and any who oppose the bill. They want information and that's where Alipac steps in!

Cost of illegal immigration to the state of Arkansas is $224m a year!

If they bring up cost of detention of illegal aliens:

And this is the most important information to be armed with!

    Quote:
But immigration attorney Marilyn Daniel said, "Federal law does not make it a crime to be in the United States without legal status. It is not a crime. What this bill proposes would make it a crime in Kentucky...This is stepping way beyond what federal law does."

are you sure about that Marilyn???

I think this law says otherwise.......

Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:

    * Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
    * Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
    * Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;

    has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

    Lets not forget this:

"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."

Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

    * assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

    * encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or

    * knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime. Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his or her work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

    Respectfully submitted from

Try and find out the expert spokesman in support of the bill before the meeting and remind him/her to stick to the issues "Jobs and cost to state!" That's the Gig Jimbob!

"Out in the hallway after the meeting is where the action is, reporters, state Reps!"

    Example:
Before the judiciary committee met here on a similar bill I e-mailed the chairman the cost of illegal immigrants to our state over and over again!
Before the meeting Advo groups were saying that passing this bill would cost our state $41million a year after my numerous e-mails the committee didn't bring it up once, and our side threw it out there and it was passed over quickly. What ever they say, whatever sad story they give as statements, Stick to you're guns "Jobs and Cost!"

"All of you Ozark Mountain DareDevils out there need to go to this, This is Important and can make more of a difference than you can imagine!

"I wish I could come with you!"
