Citing safety concerns, federal agents are withdrawing from the Nevada cattle ranch where they had engaged in a week-long showdown with Cliven Bundy, a 67-year-old rancher who claimed the federal government had no right to tax and regulate property his family has owned since 1880.
The Bureau of Land Management had dispatcher agents, helicopters and four-wheelers to remove several hundred of Bundy’s cattle that they claimed were encroaching on federal landslands–and may have posed a threat to an endangered tortoise habitat. A BLM spokesperson also claimed that Bundy owed over $1 million dollars in fines that he accrued since the early 1990s.

Bundy and his family challenged BLM’s authority to “manage my ranch out of business,” he said, according to ABC News.
Federal policies had starved out all the other cattle ranchers in the area, and Bundy saw his dispute with BLM as a challenge to destructive federal power.
“People are getting tired of the federal government having unlimited power,” said Bundy’s wife, Carol, in a statement.
Last week, government agents descended upon the property, which is 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. They set up a blockade on the road leading to the ranch, and clashed with several hundred protesters. Tasers were used on at least one person: Bundy’s son, Ammon. Another son, Dave, was briefly taken into custody by authorities.
The establishment of a designated “First Amendment zone,” drew criticism from many people, including Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, a Republican. Citizens’ free speech rights were protected only when they were standing in the First Amendment zone.
“Most disturbing to me is the BLM’s establishment of a ‘First Amendment Area’ that tramples upon Nevadans’ fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution,” said Sandoval in a statement.
But on Saturday, BLM decided not to remove the cattle, citing concerns that the operation was endangering the lives of both federal agents and civilians.
“Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public,” said BLM Director Neil Kornze in a statement.
Currently, BLM plans to keep the cattle its agents already took, sell them and give Bundy some of the proceeds.
Media coverage of the Bundy’s plight likely played a role in convincing the government to withdraw. Bundy gave several sympathetic interviews to television and radio stations over the last few days.

Bunkerville, NEVADA, April 14, 2014– As reported yesterday, hundreds of federal agents are still at the Bundy Ranch and the area continues its status as a no-fly zone. Despite major media reports that the Nevada Bureau of Land Management is retreating, the remaining activity that still surrounds the ranch illustrates a different scenario.
Not only is the BLM not actually backing off of Cliven Bundy, Sheriff Richard Mack of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association has revealed stunning information: on Ben Swann’s radio program, Mack said that he has received intelligence from multiple, credible sources inside the BLM and the Las Vegas Metro that there is “no question” that the federal government is planning a raid on the Bundy home and the homes of their children who live on the property.

According to Mack, the so-called retreat was nothing more than theatrics. “It was a ploy to get people to back off, to get people out of the way. They weren’t expecting us to get this amount of people here. They were surprised by the numbers and so they wanted a way to get us out of here. This was a ploy to get us out of here and then they’re going after the Bundys.” Mack said that when he was at the Bundy ranch on Saturday there were an estimated 600 to 800 protesters present when federal agents were releasing the cattle.

“If they do that kind of raid, I don’t believe there’s any way that could happen without bloodshed,” Mack told Swann.

Mack spoke about the tactic that protesters used by putting women at the front of the line facing the federal agents to make them think carefully before opening fire.

“I would’ve gone next. I would’ve been the next one to be killed. I’m not afraid to die here. I’m willing to die here,” said Mack.

Mack said that he had been told by Bundy that the federal government is actively shutting down the ranching industry, specifically in Clark County. He also revealed that there used to be 53 ranches in Clark County. All of those ranchers have been put out of business, except for Bundy who is still trying to hold on. “Every American should be outraged by it,” said Mack. The ranch has been in Bundy’s family since 1877.

Mack decried Nevada governor Brian Sandoval for declaring this situation unconstutional while doing nothing to stop it. “He could have called in the state’s national guard, could have called in the sheriff’s office, could have called in highway patrol, and he’s done nothing except assail what’s going on. That’s easy, that’s cowardly.”

Sheriff Mack also called out media including radio host Glenn Beck who he says is siding with the BLM on this issue.

“I can’t believe that there are some Americans, and some media like Glenn Beck, that are supporting the BLM in this and it’s absolutely disgraceful.”

This is the best video (SCROLL DOWN) I’ve ever seen about not just the Bundy Ranch standoff, but our State of the Nation. We’ve become so pitted against one another, we no longer see the enemy of our enemy is our friend and that Americans – all Americans – must hang together or we will indeed hang separately.
Is Cliven Bundy within his legal rights completely? Probably not, but neither was Rosa Parks, was she? Nor the original Tea Party, or the Founding Fathers, the kids in Tienanmen Square or Anne Frank. That’s why it’s important to stand up to this Federal Government now – before it’s too late.
Do you realize that we were within just a few gunshots of a second Revolutionary War last weekend? I believe that. The Obama Administration believes that. I don’t care what the liberal media is saying about militias who came to the defense of Cliven Bundy – at least a line in the sand was drawn and I hope those leftists at least appreciate that this Administration is frightened of something now.

Harry Reid is a thoroughly corrupt multi-multi, millionaire who cannot get enough money and power.
He nearly brought this country to an armed crisis by enlisting the BLM, and bringing them down with a show of military force – complete with snipers and armored vehicles – on a situation that has been going on for decades. Why now?

We should be supporting all citizens being oppressed by this government. It’s true – the 1% owns a bigger percentage of the wealth than ever. It’s going from Fascism-Lite to real Fascism in a hurry with snakes in the cabinet and at the Fed printing and giving money at 0% interest. It’s a house of cards and when it folds – they won’t be hurt – they’re too big to fail.
But you aren’t. When was the last time your wages went up? Gas prices double – who does that hurt? Food prices triple – who does that hurt? The NSA, FBI, IRS and a whole bunch of other agencies have your phone calls, your credit card receipts, your taxes, texts, Facebook posts and now your health records?
Get ready and stop hating on one another. We’ll work out all that crap later – right now there are politicians to focus on.

BLM foolishly thought that if they closed down the air space, threatened citizens with arrest, brought snipers to the scene and ordered the mainstream media to run a total blackout on the story, they would control the situation and easily be able to assert their will (which was to seize control of the land).

During the Bundy Ranch affair, mainstream media was ordered by the White House to completely refrain from covering the story. This, again, is a laughable mistake from an old-school playbook.
