Hi everyone -

I only have time to make a quick note about the tea party, I have to leave for work. I have pictures I'll try to upload later.

It was huge. Probably 10,000 people. I was in one or two of the shots in the Glenn Beck show - but I was all the way in the back of the main crowd in front of the Alamo.

It was obviously a home-grown grassroots product. People made their own shirts, signs and brought their own flags. (There were no pre-made Si Se Puede handouts sponsored by Miller Beer or anything like that.) There were no politicians or potential candidates making rounds. It was just regular people. A couple of tax investigating orgs were handing out flyers - they looked like they were printed from a home computer.

It was also not loud enough. We could barely hear anything - just Ted Nugent every once in a while. What was great about that is that people were talking to each other.....which is what we need to do more often. GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND GET OUT AND TALK FACE TO FACE.

People are paying attention more than you know. Here's what I took away from the event:

1. People really want the Federal Reserve investigated and audited
2. People want a fair trial regarding the Obama birth certificate issue
3. People read and know the constitution better than our elected officials
4. People will not give up their gun rights
5. People despise Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Frank and all those other joksters
6. People know it is their RIGHT to use the constitution to remove our government if it does not listen and work for us.
7. Everyone (and I mean everyone) is completely against amnesty
8. People feel hopeless and depressed because of an *unknown* reason
(a discussion about the mainstream media usually followed)
9. No one feels they are being represented, instead they feel blamed and attacked
10. People are READY for something to happen and want to DO SOMETHING to change the course that our country is on.

That's it for me - I will have to check in later tonight.

I was so proud of my fellow citizens and my city last night. Even with that many people, plus one or two counter protesters, it was a friendly, peaceful, family event. Everyone was polite, smiling and it was a positive event. And the best part is - our fellow Americans brought their great American DOLLAR$$ to the local eateries and bars afterwards!! It was a great time.
