    San Antonio Tea Party

    Hi everyone -

I only have time to make a quick note about the tea party, I have to leave for work. I have pictures I'll try to upload later.

It was huge. Probably 10,000 people. I was in one or two of the shots in the Glenn Beck show - but I was all the way in the back of the main crowd in front of the Alamo.

It was obviously a home-grown grassroots product. People made their own shirts, signs and brought their own flags. (There were no pre-made Si Se Puede handouts sponsored by Miller Beer or anything like that.) There were no politicians or potential candidates making rounds. It was just regular people. A couple of tax investigating orgs were handing out flyers - they looked like they were printed from a home computer.

It was also not loud enough. We could barely hear anything - just Ted Nugent every once in a while. What was great about that is that people were talking to each other.....which is what we need to do more often. GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND GET OUT AND TALK FACE TO FACE.

People are paying attention more than you know. Here's what I took away from the event:

    1. People really want the Federal Reserve investigated and audited
    2. People want a fair trial regarding the Obama birth certificate issue
    3. People read and know the constitution better than our elected officials
    4. People will not give up their gun rights
    5. People despise Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Frank and all those other joksters
    6. People know it is their RIGHT to use the constitution to remove our government if it does not listen and work for us.
    7. Everyone (and I mean everyone) is completely against amnesty
    8. People feel hopeless and depressed because of an *unknown* reason
(a discussion about the mainstream media usually followed)
    9. No one feels they are being represented, instead they feel blamed and attacked
    10. People are READY for something to happen and want to DO SOMETHING to change the course that our country is on.

That's it for me - I will have to check in later tonight.

I was so proud of my fellow citizens and my city last night. Even with that many people, plus one or two counter protesters, it was a friendly, peaceful, family event. Everyone was polite, smiling and it was a positive event. And the best part is - our fellow Americans brought their great American DOLLAR$$ to the local eateries and bars afterwards!! It was a great time.

Congratulations San Antonio!! You people really showed up.

One observation I saw being at a TEA Party and watching those on TV. There was a shortage of minorities? What in the heck is up with this? Do they not care about their own country? Do they want socialism? Until all Americans unite this monster we have created will grow.

We did have a black preacher speak and his goal was to work educating minorities on what is going on. I admire this guy because he has stepped up to the plate and is willing to take on a job that is HUGE. Good luck to him!

I agree 100% with the 10 points made. Yes!

Wow, 10,000 brave Americans! Love it! It gives me hope that the American people can actually get their precious country out of the hands of Obama and his den of communists . Bravo! Great job, San Antonio!

    That's great LMC!!

We were all ready to go to that one....t-shirts and everything......and then couldn't make it at the last minute due to a busted fuel pump. Talk about disappointed!!!

About how many people were there?

I just missed the coverage they had on Ch. 3 only catching the tail end as I was coming back into the house.

Yesterday just didn't seem to be my day for a Party, let me tell ya

Awww, thank you Sosad.....you're so sweet!

Yes, it was disappointing but there will be others as you point out so we'll get to one, one of these days.

The 4th of July events DO sound like they will be something else again, don't they? Perfect day for it too

I'm glad you had a good time!! It sure sounds like you had a blast and got a few things off your chest in the process!! I'll bet when you left you felt invigorated and had a brand new sense of accomplishment!!

After all of that yelling and whooping, how's your voice today?
