Fiorina casts doubt on intelligence about Russia hacking
Fiorina casts doubt on intelligence about Russia hacking

Carly Fiorina on Monday also cast doubt on the CIA’s assessment that Russia tried to tip the election in Donald Trump’s favor, after meeting privately with the president-elect in Trump Tower.
“We talked about hacking, whether it’s Chinese hacking or reported Russian hacking,” the former Hewlett-Packard CEO told reporters.
Fiorina was reportedly brought in to speak with Trump about the role of director of national intelligence. She chaired the CIA External Advisory Board during President George W. Bush’s administration but has no government experience.
Unlike Trump, she has struggled to turn her business success into political success, mounting two failed campaigns — one for U.S. Senate and the other for president — and a brief run as Ted Cruz’s vice presidential running mate.
Fiorina would be the first female DNI, if selected. Her discussion with Trump came hours after the president-elect expressed his latest denial of U.S. intelligence that Russia interfered in the U.S. election.
“Can you imagine if the election results were the opposite and WE tried to play the Russia/CIA card. It would be called conspiracy theory!” Trump tweeted Monday morning.
He added in another Twitter post: “Unless you catch ‘hackers’ in the act, it is very hard to determine who was doing the hacking. Why wasn’t this brought up before election?”
But the two discussed more than just hacking. Fiorina said they “spent a fair amount of time talking about China as probably our most important adversary and a rising adversary.”
“We talked about the opportunity that the president-elect has to literally reset things, to reset the trajectory of this economy, to reset the role of government, to reset America’s role in the world and how we’re perceived in the world. And I think it’s why he’s getting such fantastic people in his administration,” she added. “The high quality of people that he’s named already says so much about his executive abilities. But it also says that people recognize the opportunity that our new president-elect has to really make a huge impact on people’s lives in this country and on events around the world. So it was an honor for me to be there.”

I actually think Carly Fiorina would be very well-suited for this position and would work hard to do a good job.
