    Florida: Voter Registration Law Challenged

    Florida: Voter Registration Law Challenged

    By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
    Published: September 18, 2007
A voter registration law wrongly barred thousands of Florida residents from taking part in the 2006 election and should be thrown out, the N.A.A.C.P. and others said in a federal lawsuit. The law prevents voters from registering if their driver’s licenses or Social Security information does not match what is on the registration form. Opponents of the law say it, and similar requirements in a number of states, have caused myriad problems. Legitimate voters have been thwarted for having a maiden name on a driver’s license instead of a married name, or because of database input errors that make one digit wrong in a birth date, opponents said. Plaintiffs in the suit filed in United States District Court include the Florida State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Haitian-American Grassroots Coalition.

I guess there is no such thing as voter responsibility anymore. I always thought it was a persons responsibility and the law to make sure your identification was correct.

Sound like another ploy to create a wide-open system with no checks and balances and everyone votes despite their legal status.
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!

Have ANY of these OBL groups heard of a PROVISIONAL BALLOT? You know, the voting form that is utilized when a voters eligibility is in question!

So, we should simply let EVERYONE vote, regardless of their eligibility/legal status to do so, just so a relative few aren't inconvienienced by taking a few moments to fill out said provisional ballot?

BS--every driver knows their license must be changed when they are married. If birthdays are wrong, it's up to the driver to correct it. This is all a play to legitimize illegals in our voting process--BS. The judge should throw this case out.
