Thread: Four amnesty provisions in S. 1348

It's beyond me how any Senator can claim there is no amnesty in the Compehensive Immigration Reform Bill of 2007 S.1348. Furthermore, President Bush has to be off his rocker if he thinks this is not an amnesty bill!

Amnesty provisions written into S. 1348:

1. "Z" visa - This is an amnesty because it could immediately legalize 15 to 25 million (just an educated guess) illegal immigrants. All illegals that have been here since January 1, 2007 will have up to two years to appear at a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office to complete an application for a Z visa. Within 24 hours of filing the illegal will be issued a Z visa which will grant them "probationary" amnesty in the form of a work permit. The legal immigrant would then be able to apply for a green card and path to citizenship at a later date.

2. DREAM Act - This amnesty is for illegal immigrants who graduate from a U.S. high school. It will entitle them to attend college at in-state tuition rates.

3. AgJOBS - This program with authorize amnesty for 1.5 million illegal immigrant agricultural workers.

4. Employers - Every employer that has knowingly hired illegal immigrants in the past and present would receive amnesty from their crime if S. 1348 is signed into law. They would not be subject to fines or prosecution either for hiring the illegal aliens or for any tax fraud committed as a result.

Yeah, this is a veyr bad bill. If it passes we can say good bye to our country we love so much. Also if it passes the North American union starts getting moving fast. The bad news is after the Vitters Amendment told me one thing with 66 supporting it. That this will get over 60 votes.

The Dream Act is so bad--let's illegals have 'in-state' tuition. My kids couldn't go to another state for 'in-state' tuition, but illegals can go 'in-state' from another country??? I don't think so. This alone should kill this bill. It also rewards the ones that have been here the longest. The Heritage Foundation did an excellent analysis of this disgraceful legislation.

The entire bill is a travesty. It insults the intelligence of every American citizen, and makes a mockery of our Constitution. Thanks to these morons, we are the laughing stock of the world. Our enemies are probably having CSPAN parties, to sit and laugh at the idiots.

All of these pandering, spineless, pseudo Senators, are traitors to this country and should be removed from office. It feels as though we are living in the Twilight Zone. I still can't believe this is happening. Thank God for the internet. We certainly can't depend on the MSM to provide the truth. It's very disheartening.

This really sucks. Even if the Z visa provision was amended out of the bill, most illegals would still get amnesty anyway with the AgJobs and Dream amnesties, many of them with fake documents or through family sponsorship. This entire bill needs to be killed!
