Schools attempt to shape opinions of 10 and 11 year olds

    The Last Straw:

This morning my husband, unemployed because of illegals (see posts below) showed me our 10 year old's homework due tomarrow.

The paper was entitled 'Immigration Unit'

I have to paraphrase some of the questions because when we took the paper to our Principal to complain, 'inadvertantly' he kept the paper.

#1. Please explain how you would feel to live in a poor country?
#2. Explain in detail what lengths your family might go through to find a better life somewhere else?
#3. Describe how you would feel if you had to leave your home in the middle of the night to go somewhere else. What would you take and what would you leave behind?
#4. Once you moved, would you miss your old friends or make new ones?

etc..... but you get the picture.

My husband was mad because he believes it was a 'conspiracy' of the government to find out how our kids thought.
I believe it is the a violation of parents rights to raise our children under our discretion and that politics are not the schools job to teach. And that this was merelly a way to shape and mold the opinions of our 5th and 6th graders opinions to pity the illegals and taint their views WITH OUT consulting parents.

Charlie visited the Principal right away, our 10 year old does NOT have to complete this 'homework'. All 5th and 6th Graders in Numa were given this 'homework' I haven't found out how many schools, towns, states were given this homework.

I am going to look up the NEA to find out if they are trying to sneak in a political agenda to impressionable young minds.

I think this is a valid concern that I will follow up on.

They've been on these agendas for some time.

When mine were young it was "drugs". Imagine my surprise when I came to pick up my daughter in KINDERGARTEN and had the class go...'
"Gosh ............. your moms a drug addict!!!eewweeee. " Why? Coz I was carrying a pack of cigarettes in my purse and part of it was sticking out.

Then in 2nd grade she was being extreemly difficult and I raised my voice and sent her to her room. She promptly told me to get out of her way because she was calling HRS coz I yelled at her and THAT"S CHILD ABUSE!!! They were told your parents could not lay a hand on you....yell at you.....call you stupid....or anything. And even if you just THOUGHT they might....you were to protect yourself from this abuse. And they were given the number of HRS to memorize. Now this is a child when I put her in a time-out when she was younger would scream solid for 3 hours and never waver. "Your KILLING ME!!!!!" when you'd wash her hair. She was a drama queen.

Then in Jr. High I eves dropped on a conversation between her and her friends and one was having a difficult time in PE. She was failing because she was heavy and just didn't like alot of the activities. The teacher was gay. That was never kept secret from them or the parents. She was a good teacher. Yet they already knew if you wanted to get even to make up stuff and say she "touched them" or "looked at them funny". I was LIVID!!! I made sure there wasn't another issue and when I knew for sure there wasn't I nipped that in the bud right there even though my daughter was extreemly angry for "invading her privacy and eves-dropping".

I truely beleive it is a way to undermine the parents authority. And parents need to jump in right away.

I think you are BOTH right! I would march right back to the principle and tell him you need a copy of the"Immigrant Unit" paper because you intend to do some "homework" of your own.

CrazyBird, actually I was a legal advocate and 'activist' of sorts prior to this for American Family Rights Association that defends falsely accused parents of child abuse by our CPS (any state child protective service agency).

I know all to well how the schools and government are running our family life now. I helped defend hundreds of parents and prepare them for hearings and other defense measures against CPS, school harrassment etc.

We really need an all out revolution to get our America and American families back to the safety and security we used to have. But that is nearly impossible these days.

I feel for you, it sounds like you adjusted well to your child's maturing and learned to handle situations quickly regardless of the schools and their inevitable mischievious teen behavior.

Ps. in our small town, we are primarily conservative and against homosexuality. Ironically, my Gym teacher was gay to, and I later was offended by that when I found out. In addition they advanced this woman to Principal of our Jr Hi later. The difference perhaps was that she did never announce her sexual orientation and it was never a public issue.
Now I am upset because this woman watched many of us shower... if she were a guy PE teacher who watched young girls shower (which she kind of was) there would have been an outcry.

The schools definitely have an agenda, there is no doubt. They are molding young impressionable minds and it is intended. I do not even refer to them as schools, I call them indoctrination centers. My 2 children will never step foot in a school, we will homeschool them all the way through.

While you are at the school why don't you ask them what grade they plan on teaching the constitution and the bill of rights in and see what response you get. I am betting you will be shocked to find out the founding documents of this country are NOT taught in school.

    No problem

I don't see the problem with these topics as they describe the experience of the many legal immigrants who populated the USA.

I've exchanged emails with my school board rep. She says
it's not her job to enforce immigration laws & the system is
required to serve all comers. The attitudes seem to range
    from benign acceptance to indoctrination.

Adjusted? Na..wouldn't go that far. I was scared to death each and every time I had to stand up against the school and everything else. It was a horrible time for me. I'm amazed my kids turned out so well balanced since it really threw me off kilter!! I just never quit.

Just out of curiosity, I asked one of my nephews (who is 10) these questions. The following were the answers he gave meL:

1: I live in America, why would I leave?
2: Mom would just get a new job.
3: I would be sad and scared because that means my house is on fire.
4: Neither because we aren't moving.

(Side note) Nephew asked my why I was asking stupid questions.
I don't care what you call me, so long as you call me AMERICAN.
