Thompson Announces Plan to Secure Border, Enforce Existing Immigration Laws
Senator Fred Thompson today unveiled a comprehensive border security and immigration enforcement proposal that would make America safer by increasing security at our nation’s borders, enforcing our country’s existing laws to reduce the incentive for illegal immigration and streamlining the legal immigration process.
“A country that cannot secure its borders will not remain a sovereign nation and you cannot have national security without border security,â€"Send them Back." "Build a damn wall and be done with it."

When will it be brought to the floor?
This is not a bill, it's empty rhetoric from someone who wants something (our support) from the voting public. Thompson is a member or the CFR. Furthermore, his past voting record on border security and illegal immigration issues is a matter of public record. Moreover, they don't support his current stated position.

And what if it comes down to Thompson vs Guiliani............and then vs Clinton? And that looks like exactly where 08 is heading.

To you naysayers, can you name one other candidate that has come forth with a plan for controlling illegal immigration? I have heard some one-liners and not much more!! And, as much as I like Tom Tancredo, I don't believe I have have heard anything from him as detail as that proposed by Fred Thompson. Please enlighten me!

The elections are fixed anyhow. Why do you think thatthe ballots are whisked off before anyone but paid off counters can see them?
How do you think that the media can reportthe results so soon after the polls close? (They know in advnce of course)
We haven't had an honest election in the past couple of decades.

Sailor,
Duncan Hunter
Trancredo
Ron Paul
They all have outlined plans against illegal immigrants.
My money is on Hunter, due to his stance on bringing back manufacturing jobs to the US and getting rid of the trade deficit with China! Plus, he's the one that brought in the Border Fence bill that passed.
