Has anyone else wondered if he is being bribed by some of the big drug cartels? Possibly his decision making is being based on being swayed by the cartels money. Either that or he is a plum idiot (maybe it is both)!
it is the West texas jurisdiction of one Johnny Sutton whos district includes everything from san antonio to El Paso in west texas.

New to the boards, and must say I am from Rocksprings, TX, the location of this event.

After you read the articles, the statements, its hard to believe that Gilmer could face a prison sentence for trying to protect the country.

I've recently written an equation in light of the injustices to our border lawmen:

    Ideal equation:
Illegal aliens trying to get into the US.
+ Border officers who try to stop them.
    ----------------------------------------------
    = Deterrence of illegal immigration.

But now the government is prosecuting border lawmen like Ramos, Compeon, & Hernandez, all of whom caused minor wounds to illegals when using what force they deemed necessary in those few seconds they have been given to think.

Now the government tells them that they used unnecessary force by shooting at the illegals. So they have taken the lawmen, and thrown them in jail. So they eliminate what force the lawmen have. Basically, they have taken their guns away, and left them with their flashlight & batons, right? But the government has also said 'uh-uh' to a border patrol officer who tried to defend himself using his flashlight. So what do they have left? Well, they took away the flashlight, and I would say thats a hell of a lot less deadlier than a police baton, so they would probably take the baton away as soon as someone uses it. So we're left with pepper spray? vs. someone (and usually more than one) who may have a gun? Basically, the government has taken away any power, & in fact now sends a confusing message to its lawmen: "Take 'em down...but dont use any force, because we'll throw you in jail if they get hurt." Lets look at the new equation.

Illegal aliens trying to get into the US.
+ No law enforcement willing to take action,
    for fear of prosecution.
    ------------------------------------------
= Free passage into the US. & open gates
    at the border.

I'm glad we all support our government.

    This needs to be stopped.

    WELCOME xfan06

    Enjoyed reading your post.

Can't speak for anyone else here, but I support our U.S. Constitution that the government apparently finds to be a pesky little document and puts too many roadblocks in their collective paths.

The amount of support given to the 'government' will be in direct relationship to their amount of respect for the CONSTITUTION of the United States.

Again, glad to meet ya! Hope you'll post often and share your views.

    Thanks.

I know I present a slightly one sided arguement, but I will try to elaborate more (while being fair lol).

Yes I support the government. (The line at the end was out of sarcasm and anger.) Yes I support the constitution. I believe it to be an unrivaled document of rights and powers. I believe what most people do not support is the great number of interpretations one can make out of it. You know the whole, 'right to bear arms' vs. outlawing guns? Well i mean, the millions of interpretations of the constitution come into question.

So governmental faith and support are basically unquestionable. But then there are the cases we are debating on today. Gilmer, Compeon, Ramos. All lawmen of the border who have come into a conflict with the ability to do their job. In the cases here, where an illegal immigrant is involved, you would usually expect the government to support the deterrence of such action. However, by dragging the officers into court for basically doing their job, they have created a contradiction to their own policies. I believe this will be a crucial undoing to governmental support if no one considers what is going on.

If we do not stop to think about the message that the government is sending to the rest of the world, then something bad will happen (in what form I do not know). But yes, I am talking about riots and other acts of violence that could occur.

One thing I do not want anybody to get me wrong on:
    1. I do believe that Gilmer, Compeon, & Ramos should all be given some type of departmental discipline. i.e, they need to be handed a salary cut, or a demotion, or something to that effect.
    2. I DO NOT believe that they should be prosecuted and given prison sentences.

The main reason for this is because yes, the actions here are all questionable, whether you are a trigger happy gunslinger, or a good guy like these men. It isnt 100% okay to fire your gun off at someone, but in the moment, IF you had to do it, you HAD to do it. Now I believe that they HAD to use this show of force to at least attempt to bring these people down, otherwise they would have gotten off scott-free, & attempted the feat again.

So they shouldnt be given prison sentences for trying to uphold governmental policy. They should however, be given a light disciplinary action. Do you see what I mean? I hope so. I just dont want anyone to get the wrong idea here.

So, Id like to say that because of the way that these cases are being dealt with, and handled by the government, all 3 need to be pardoned & freed.

    FREE GILMER! COMPEON! RAMOS!

    Welcome xfan06.
    Good post.
Hopefully someday we'll have a leader who will back our brave border patrol agents and show them the respect they deserve.

Conspriacy all the way--to conditon us from defending ourselves against this invasion--they aim to make their point to us--you will lay down and accept illegals, you will not harm them or defend your border. All in the name of the NAU and socialism.

I may be mistaken here, I think the illegal who threatened the border guard with a rock was taken serious by the border guard and shot and killed for his threat of landing a rock up side of the guards head, now we have another border guard who will be fighting for his life in a court of law, his word against the word of 7 illegals, and just who's word do you think the prosecution and the jury will choose to accept? It seems that Rames and Compean are about to have some more company in prison! Yes, I think there is beginning to be a pattern here. Pretty soon at this rate, we will have no more border guards left to guard the border,I guess we can hire illegals to do their jobs for them maybe?
ROFLMBO.......You are sooo funy, that totally cracks me up, put Illegals on the boarder....wooohoooo what a hoot Hey lets keep it on the down side though the Goverment officials might take us seriously

    GOD BLESS THE MINUTEMEN
Every immigrant who comes here should be required within five years to learn English or leave the country.

    Free Gilmer

Deputy Gilmer Hernandez is one of the finest to ever have served his community. I strongly disagree that he is currently awaiting sentencing. It's a shame how far they have let Mr. Sutton get away with his corruption. I commend anyone who serves his community with great passion, espically for putting his or her life at risk for keeping their community street's safe. FREE GILMER
