    Birth Certificate Requirements for Licenses/ID's

I was listening to Mike Savage one day on the radio and a woman called in stating her mother could not get a license or ID because she did not have her birth certificate. Now, this is something new that was passed, in I thnk St. Louis, MO.. And Micheal Savage eluded to this being something that was going to take place all over the United States soon..

I really don't know anymore then that, but was curious if any of you have heard about that?

I think it would help to control illegal immigration some..

I don't understand why the woman could not get a birth certificate, unless she was so old she never had one to begin with, those are few and far between! I think that is just an excuse to not have to use birth certificates to get the ids.

More likely than not the woman had a valid claim to not having a birth certificate, such as being born at home, or being a legal citizen here but born in another country whose records are missing.
The illegal aliens will be the ones with no problem producing birth certificates. Their documents will look legit, and nobody will check any further. If our national ID mandates birth certificates as the primary proof, we are all in trouble. But then, that's only my opinion.

In Georgia, Purdue has mandated to inconspicuously place *undercover* agents to pose as examiners in state Driver's License Bureau locations. These agents are skilled in recognizing suspicious/fake documents. I hope they catch thousands of illegal immigrants and deport them.

Don't be so naive. None of my mother's siblings had a birth certificate as the town they lived in consited of 75 people and just about everyone born their was born in their parent's home and parent's bed. Next town, 150 miles down a dirt road.

Gabriel, Nitty is not that niave believe me. a lot of my people didnt have birth certificates either, I am sure I am much older then you child. however most of those are gone or way to old to care about voting anyway, the only other possible reason, would be maybe your folks are illegal in the first place? My mother-in-laaw and father-in-law both were born at home, yet both have birth certificates they are both 76, so who are you talking about here Gabriel?

this is a stupid argument, you have a birth certificate to get a drivers license, for gods sake why would not voting be much more important then that? give us all a break here Gabriel, it is going to happen and the illegals will be stopped from voting in our elections, they should go home and vote in their own elections there might change things for them at home and quit trying to change our country to suit them instead!

"Because most of those are way too old to care about voting" does not apply to all as there are plenty who still would like to vote. Don't justify a freedom or lack of freedom by American citizens because you or those you know don't derive a benefit. The same method you are using is one of the basic arguments of anti-illegal activists (Rich people don't care about illegal immigration because they are not affected by illegals). I agree that illegals should not vote; however we need to make sure that those who can vote should not be obstructed. My folks or grandparents are not illegal thanks, nor were they anchor babies for that matter. While you're at it Mr. Older and Wiser why don't you learn something from a child and realize that the word "then" means next; the word "than" is used in a comparison.

I tell you Gabriel, if someone wants to vote bad enough, they can come up with the proper identification. I am sure our government has made allowances for those born long ago who didnt have a birth certificant, you cannot tell me that Legal Americans cannot come up with what they need to vote! People are using all kind of reasonings to keep from having to come up with what they need to have a proper Id to vote. Are you trying to say your folks and your grandparents don't drive? I happen to know you have to have some kind of birth certificant in order to get your drivers license! In order to keep our voting process limited to legal citizens we are going to have to go this route should have done this a long time ago as far as I am concerned.

My mother got her driver's license when she was 62. Being born at home not long after the turn of the century, she did not have a birth certificate. In this case an elderly person with no birth certificate could have someone who has known them for 20 years or more and can vouch for their citizenship sign a written affadavit and have it notarized.

People filing for Social Security without a birth certificate usually have to produce such notarized affadavits.
