    FYI: on DUPLICATES

    We'll be deleting duplicates whenever possible, guys.
    We need to both save room and keep the information as organized as possible.

    > Whichever one has the most posts stays.
    > If they have the same number of posts - then the last one posted will get zapped.

    Suggestion: if the article is newer, try looking at the first 2 or 3 pages for it. If it's older, definitely do a search and bring the original back up by posting to it. That will bring it back onto the first page.

    The Mods are going and don't have the extra time to spare.

    Please define "Duplicates"
    I understand 2 identifical articles.
    How about 2 or more simular articles with different view points and from different locations?

    Duplicates are the 'same' article with the 'same' author no matter where it's been found.
    Example: Each news org will print the same article with a different title many times but it's still a dupe.

    Similar articles don't apply but it is good to post them in the same thread. Piggy back them, so to speak. That way the pertinent info stays in one place while the conversation takes place. However, that's simply a request.

    Maybe a little help on these dups.

    Keep a second browser window open to Google.com

    Click on Advanced Search

    Use the second search field called "with the exact phrase" to enter a few words from the first line of an article with copy and paste that you want to post. I don't use the title because some outlets and posters change the titles.

    Down the screen a ways is a box across from the word Domain. Enter "Alipac.us" in the box without the quotes.

    Go back up to the top right and click search.

    If this search doesn't produce the article already posted you are likely OK to go.
