FYI: Ned Lamont, Dem Candidate for Senate, supports amnesty

This morning on FOX News Sunday, Ned Lamont (CT candidate for Senate) was interviewed by Chris Wallace. During the interview, Mr. Lamont said he would not vote for any bill that calls for the deportation of illegal immigrants, and fully supports granting legal status to illegal immigrants and offering them a path to citizenship.

Many people feel we should oust our current Congress because they have done little or nothing about most issues important to the American people. Please exercise caution. There are many in Congress who are opposed to a path to citizenship. We have to be careful we don't throw out the baby with the bath water. It is ever important that we follow voting records and put our support behind those who are voting with the people.

I fear our government has strayed from the dream of our forefathers: A government of the people; by the people and for the people to one that is of business, by business and for business.

Unlike many, I am not adverse to a TEMPORARY guest worker program. There is a need for migrant workers, but not shadow workers or a blanket amnesty. ALL workers in the country MUST be registered, with a program in place that imposes severe penalties against businesses that continue to hire and recruit these shadow workers.

My greatest concern is this government has no idea who is in the country or why. I personally would like to tie all employment (Business and Day Labor Centers) to Selective Service registration. It is required by law that ALL men between the ages of 17 and 3 months through their 25ths birthday register, regardless of legal status. No one group is targeted; therefore there is no discrimination. It does not cover all the estimated 7.4 million illegal workers (the remaining are presumed to be women and children), but it would be a starting point to knowing who is in the country, where they are, and what they are doing.

OK, I'll ask again - why do you feel Selective Service Registration is Totalitarianism on the move?

Selective Service registration has been in effect since 1940 (with a brief suspension between '75-'80). Have you always thought it was Totalitarianism?

When you post a response like this, it helps to better understand your intent if you elaborate. Your response is open ended and can be read in favor of illegal immigrants' right to live in this country.
