    U.S. Constitution Day 2006

    U.S. Constitution Day 2006

Training materials presented by the CBP Office of Training and Development Leadership and Workforce Development Division.

A core CBP value, Service to the Country, includes defending and upholding the Constitution of the United States. The American people have entrusted CBP to protect the homeland and defend liberty. The Constitution is the framework of our organization’s mission.

Under Public Law 08-447, enacted December 8, 2004, Government agencies are required to provide orientation materials for new employees and to conduct annual training on the United States Constitution. To address the annual training requirement, CBP is providing the following on-line resources for employees to learn more about our Constitution. Your participation is voluntary and you can visit one or more of the references listed below. You do not have to record your participation into the TRAEN system.

U.S. Constitution Day will be observed on Monday, September 18, 2006. Please take the time to learn something new about our nation’s founding document by viewing the following resources:

Your welcome and thank you for your support!

It's sad that no one seems to care that today was Constitution day.

    Very sad indeed!

I suppose this would be a good thing to ask our children about. How did you celebrate Constitution Day at school?

I asked my daughter when she got home (4th Grade) and she said there was no mention of it at school.

I assigned her some additional homework last night; Constitution 101.

Grandson heard no mention of Constitution Day at school. I will ask why and do Constitution 101 here too.

Thats great, Im glad to see parents do that. Ive recently started doing it myself, they have these books at Barnes and Noble called "History Maker Bios" they are books about individual people, alot are on the Founding Fathers and other American heros, so i picked up one on George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Paul Revere, and Paul Reveres ride. I try to red these to my boys for a bed time story when im home. Last night I asked my oldest what he wanted me to read to him, and he said "one of those american books" needless to say that I was proud of him.
