Geraldine Ferraro Gets One Right, for a Change

Geraldine Ferraro Gets One Right, for a Change
    By John W. Lillpop

Liberalism is truly a devastating mental disorder.

How else to explain the national furor that has driven liberal Democrats to devour one of their own over a benign remark made by Geraldine Ferraro?

A remark that just happens to be true?

In answering a question posed by the media, Ms. Ferraro correctly stated, "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

Think carefully about Ms. Ferraro's words:

How would a 48-year-old white male with little or no political experience, no accomplishments of note, a history of drug abuse in his youth, and whose entire campaign was based on a nebulous promise of "change" fare in the presidential sweepstakes?

Would 90 percent of African-Americans vote for such a candidate in the various state primaries across the nation, as they have for Obama?

Would Ted Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy, Marie Shriver, John Kerry, John Lewis, and other powerful luminaries of the Democrat Party endorse a white man with the limited credentials that Obama brings to the table?

The answer is an emphatic no!

Leave it to PC freaks to smell "racism" in Ferraro's statement, even though she did not state, or even imply, that Obama is less qualified or capable to be president because of his race.

Ferraro's remarks would have been damnably racist had she said: "Barack Obama is black and Hillary Clinton is white. Based on that fact alone, Hillary is best suited for the presidency."

This kerfuffel begs the questions, "Why has America lost all perspective about the issue of race?" Why is it 'racist' to question or criticize a person of color, regardless of the facts involved?"

Still, Ferraro's comment has added to the firestorm that is sweeping across America while devouring loony liberals addicted to PC foolishness.

With any luck, reaction to her comments and the erratic behavior of leftists like Eliot Spitzer and Bill Clinton will be enough to convince voters that the last thing America needs is a sharp turn to the left in November.

Political correctness is anti-reason, not to mention anti-common sense. It is just an old tactic lifted from the U.S.S.R. where propaganda was aimed at humiliating opponents into silence as opposed to debating their ideas. I don't think anyone seriously believes in the precepts of PC or diversity (aside from white middle class Americans).

How true. All this political correctness is what is going to lead this great country to 3rd world status.

I support Ms. Ferraro's statements 100%! The political correctness WILL ultimately destroy this country as it amounts to basically blissful ignorance.

Except, those who reject this non-sense are not the blissful ones by any means!

Obama is an intelligent and articulate candidate, but the reality is there is truth in what Ferraro said. And it's not racist to say that. Seems like Obama is believing too much of his fawning press coverage.

BINGO. It is not about "equality," "fairness," or "acceptance." It is a strategy solely aimed to promote anti-Western interests, by guilting the West into believing that we are intolerant, not accepting, never good and nice enough. STRICTLY to promote anti-Western interests, which happen to be the most self-interested, ethnocentric, and intolerant agenda imaginable. Nobody believes in PC but the West. They are all using it as a vehicle to promote their own ethnocentric and nationalist agendas. The minutemen are "racists," according to the people screaming "Brown Pride!!" and "Viva La Raza!!"

That really is the issue at hand. What Americans (and generally speaking, any person who wants his or her country back) must learn is that we CANNOT win against PC in debate, because you cannot debate propaganda. The PC movement is not interested in debate or "letting the best ideas win".

The discontented masses of America have to understand this. The vast majority of them do not support PC and comprehend the double standards and intellectual dishonesty of it, but they assume the politically correct crowd wants to debate. The exact opposite is true. Political correctness is meant to control thought, not to improve it. When a person or a movement is willing to alter itself so that it is "more inclusive" or "less offensive" in the hopes that might buy them some sort of quarter from the multicult, they are totally misjudging their opponents.

How many times have we seen the ritual performed, where the politically incorrect "heretic" begs for forgiveness from the grand inquisitors of PC? Imus and Fuzzy Zoeller come to mind. The ritual ends with the high priests of PC granting their mercy to the transgressor, and all returns to normal. The way for people to short circuit this ritual is simple: refuse to play the role assigned for the heretic. Embrace it. Argue your case. Shout the heresy from the rooftops. It is really a liberating experience. Times like that you really feel like you live in America.

Yes, one strategy that can be employed is when someone calls you a racist DO NOT try to convince them that you are not. Ask them to define racism. You'd be amazed. They CAN NOT DO IT. At least without exposing massive hypocrisy.

I have a Jewish friend who says that my proposed immigration plans are racist. I do not try to convince him how tolerant and accepting I am. I simply ask him why he supports Israel, an ethno-state with a closed ethnocentric immigration policy. Why is what's good for the goose, not good for the gander? The hypocrisy abounds with leftists. Expose it.
