    Globalization

    Globalization

In Motion Magazine: Is there a relationship between immigration and the "globalization" of the world's economies?

Roberto Martinez: Immigrant/refugee rights groups across the country are now moving in the direction of putting immigration in the context of a global economy, globalization, people on the move escaping poverty, hunger, civil war, and persecution. NAFTA (the North American Free Trade Agreement) kicked off that trend. When we testified at the NAFTA hearings we complained of why weren't they including immigration in the context of a financial free trade agreement. Why were they focusing on the free movement of merchandise but not on the free movement of people. Basically it's a labor issue.

California has always been impacted tremendously by immigration, not just by people from Mexico, but also by refugees and migrants from other countries. It's now estimated even by the INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) that there are at least five million immigrants in the U.S. who are undocumented. California usually comes in with at least half of those immigrants, not only because of its juxtaposition to Baja California, but also it's a place where people can blend into cities like L.A. and San Francisco. There's about nine million in these cities and about a third are immigrants and refugees.

It is important that we begin addressing immigration within the context of a global economy. Globalization effects the United States because investments in other countries have impacts such as people leaving that country, the displacement of jobs, jobs moving in and out of a country.

    well

Globalization is a move to form a one world government, drive down the price of labor, to do away with borders. One nation, one set of laws for the entire world. NAFTA and GATT are were some of the corner stones, the foundation to get things started, as well as opening up trade with China.

Yep, I've heard many people (especially those that are not US citizens, but are here as permanent residents) proclaim they were "citizens of the world." I wonder why they don't go to Danfur and proclaim that !!?? Oh, right, because being a "citizen of the world" is much more comforable here. HYPOCRITES!!!!

When this happens, the U.S. will spend billions of $ to bring mexico up to a first world country at the expense of the american taxpayers. Wages will be dragged in the gutter. Immigration in the past has only effected poor people in this country, this time it will effect the middle class, they are going to destroy us if we don't get up off the couch and do something!

    what

What will happen is the wages and life styles of the two bordering countries like the USA and mexico will average out. Wages and lifestyle here will drop, wages in other counties will rise. This has been happening with china, they are having a boom to their economy that is being compared to the industrial revolution of the late 1800's here in the USA. Chinas living standards are going up, while our working middle class is struggling and in some parts of the country decreasing. This same balacing act will be going on with mexico and central america.

The race to the bottom of this global hegemony that don't take any prisioners by a cabal that usurped the United States Govt; and the tratiorous trans national corps who hold no allegience to the United States Constitution; and as such all tratior's; should be tried and hung from the tallest trees.
The main stream media propaganda is nothing but filtered bovine scatology to spoon feed the unwashed masses thier proper dosages of brain washing and conditioning to keep their heads down, don't you dare criticize "your govt" or "authorities".
The United States two party system is a laughing stock and a sick joke perpetrated upon the American people.
All the Patriotic rhetoric about taking back our country that has also been lied about, marginalized, and generally discredited so no one will take a third or fourth or fifth or sixth etc party serious shows the obvious mass delusion thats perpetrated.
Globalism is hegemony. It crushes those who do not fit the cut throat ideals of mass murder under different names like democracy.
Globalism in all its forms is fundementaly mass murder and mass control and mass robbery. It is nothing else, no matter the Mummery.
