    If conservatives expected Republican Rep. Lamar Smith to champion the most controversial anti-immigration measures when he takes control of the House Judiciary Committee next month, they’re in for a surprise.

    After weeks of speculation that he would pursue a scorched-earth immigration agenda, Smith detailed his to-do list for the first time in an interview with POLITICO – and it’s an early but important signal that the new House Republican majority plans to attack the issue of immigration through the prism of jobs, rather than red meat for the base.

    Smith’s first two hearings will focus on expanding E-Verify, a voluntary electronic system for checking the immigration status of workers that President Barack Obama supports, and scrutinizing the administration’s record on worksite enforcement.

    That's the warm up pitches as far as I'm concerned, we will have to ride them about the rest of our demands. I hope they realize we have just begun cleaning their houses; we can and will replace them if they try to ignore us again, it isn't "business as usual" any longer. We DEMAND our country back!

    He will play his cards close

    He knows as long as Dumbomba can veto any serious bills he will wait until
    the next elections to throw them the wammy

    What they need now is exactly what he is doing

    I agree... They are not going to give the media anything to chew on that might derail their true Intentions before they even get started. I am sure that they are aware that there Is NO WAY that their base Is going to put up with any type of amnesty. Thay have ONE SHOT to get this right. If they give In to the corporate elites that want to keep their cheap labor,or they roll over to give any form of amnesty... It's over The Tea Party will be just the beginning.... The two party system will officially be done...
