Pelosi Erases Gingrich's Long-Standing Fairness Rules

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to re-write House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation. Pelosi’s proposals are so draconian, and will so polarize the Capitol, that any thought President-elect Obama has of bipartisan cooperation will be rendered impossible before he even takes office.

Pelosi’s rule changes -- which may be voted on today -- will reverse the fairness rules that were written around Newt Gingrich’s “Contract with America.â€

This in effect equals non-representation of people represented by minority republicans. This woman is out of control and should be thrown out on her ***. I'm sending this out to Lou Dobbs, Michelle Malkin Etc.

Heard about this on the radio tonight. Pelosi's power has gone to her head. Obama has talked about working with Republicans and Democrats, as being a President of all the people whether they voted for him or not. And does Pelosi care about Congress's approval rating around 22%? Apparently she feels like some kind of queen of DC.

The Democrats are going to wreck this country inside of four years. It took the neocons all eight.

Pelosi is out of control. Typical liberal, wants to shut down all debate as she (thinks) she knows best. I hope she doesn't get away with this.

i just hope that some of her fellow Dems will say enough is enough.
but i dont think i will hold my breath.

This woman is out of control and i hope that in two years americans remember this and vote OUT alot of dems and make them the minority again. I guess this stupid woman does not remember that with her and harry reid in charge of congress that they had an approval rating in the single digits and they were also the worst congress in order of getting anything done.

Democrats trying to make chairmen more powerful

WASHINGTON | House Democrats are changing internal rules to make their committee chairmen more powerful and marginalize Republicans who want to propose alternative legislation, GOP leaders complained Monday.

The proposed changes, expected to pass the House today, show that Democrats plan to use all the muscle at their disposal to reflect their huge election victory last November.

The Democratic majority will be 256 to 178 with one vacancy when the new House is sworn in today, compared to 235-198 with two vacancies at the end of the previous Congress.

“President Obama has pledged to lead a government that is open and transparent. This (rules package) does not represent change; it is reverting back to the undemocratic one-party rule and backroom deals that the American people rejected more than a decade ago,â€

This will bring about more closed meeting and deals in the middle of the night behind closed doors, hundreds of pages of bills that no one knows what is in it with not enough time to read it!

Democats back to the same old tricks that caused them to lose the majority, this is the insanity they refuse to shed, they just keep repeating the same mistakes and the subject doesn't matter, sad part how much damage will they do to us and our country before they lose the majority again...

She's either out of line or not..if she is, why hasn't someone cried foul? I mean to the point where they tell her that they will see her in court!! Has no one the guts? Hell, I'll tell her and Reid right where to go.
