Taxpayers funding La Raza (again)!
Can you believe we keep giving La Raza millions of dollars? Here is who voted for this stupid bill that will put us further in debt and funds radical left-wing groups. http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll519.xml
I've already called my Congressman and let his staff know what I think of this bill - please call yours.
Housing 'bailout' contains millions in earmarks for leftist groups
Jim Brown - OneNewsNow - 8/11/2008 7:30:00
There's more to the housing bailout measure than meets the eye, says
a Minnesota lawmaker. She contends that members of Congress need to
be called back to Washington to reverse the measure that, among other
things, sends millions of taxpayer dollars to a radical illegal
immigration advocacy group.
The housing package signed into law by President Bush extends an
unlimited line of credit to troubled mortgage giants Freddie Mac and
Fannie Mae and rescues homeowners near or in foreclosure. The measure
also increases the federal debt limit by another $800 billion -- and
sends millions of dollars in aid to La Raza and the Association of
Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN.
Representative Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) , a member of the House
Financial Services Committee, says she finds it "unconscionable" that
the legislation included funding for the two groups, which serve as
political action arms of the Democratic Party.
"At the same time that the American taxpayer was being asked to bail
these companies out, Barney Frank, the chairman of the Financial
Services Committee, instituted a sort of tax on Freddie and Fannie,
and that tax goes into what's called an affordable housing trust
fund," explains Bachmann. "It's a really a taxpayer-subsidized
housing fund, but that money will go to organizations like La Raza
and...ACORN. " Both groups -- "particularly ACORN," says Bachmann --
have been found to be involved in "activities where they have
perpetrated voter fraud," she contends.
Bachmann advises Congress to get back to Washington, stop the funding
stream for ACORN and La Raza, and also get American taxpayers off the
hook for bailing out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

La Raza has basically been designated as an executer of the Federal Government to distribute millions of dollars in tax payer monies to illegal invaders, whom the government cannot legally give assistance directly.
This partisan boondoggle is absolutely disgraceful! It's unconscionable that this vile, un-American group would be earmarked millions of dollars of tax payer funds to distribute to those who are in this country in violation of immigration law!
Can this bill be recalled?Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Good catch, Melissa...thanks! I will definitely be calling and writing letters...unfortunately my Congressman is Henry Waxman!
This housing bail-out is a travesty to begin with...MOST of the CA foreclosures were purchases by hispanics...legal and illegal. Now they will have more 'affordable housing' funds! Outragous!
Even worse, if that's possible, is the fact that they will get millions of our taxpayer $$$ to commit voter fraud!!! Obama just 'donated' $20M to a CA Congressman (his name escapes me) for the expressed purpose of HISPANIC VOTER OUTREACH!
I will not pay for my own demise! We need to have a taxpayer's revolt...another 'Tea Party'!

This is how it was explained to me by the manager of our bank branch, whom I've known for the past 10 years:
Apparently, the language of the bailout was crafted to "officially" bar illegal aliens from receiving any assistance or benefits whatsoever under the bailout. BUT, the problem stems from the fact that funds are available to organizations which offer home ownership related programs such as mortgage counseling, etc.
LaRaza and ACORN offer these things so would be able to apply for funds and could conceivably be granted those funds. They, of course, would use those funds to assist the IA population.
Evidently, the language needs to be revised to specifically deny funds to any groups which assist illegal aliens.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
