A driver for the grocery-delivery business Peapod is accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside her South Loop home last month, police said.

Authorities arrested Guillermo Balingit on a warrant for criminal sexual assault in connection with the alleged Oct. 26 attack at the woman's high-rise apartment in the 1100 block of South Michigan Avenue, police said.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, told police that she was attacked inside her apartment. A police spokesman couldn't say whether Balingit was making a delivery at the time of the alleged asasult. Officials at Skokie-based Peapod were unavailable for comment this morning.

About a week after the incident, police charged Balingit, of the 6000 block of W. Byron Street, with misdemeanor battery, but prosecutors dropped the case a week later, according to court records.

Balingit is expected to appear before a judge later today.
