    It my Birthday july 3 & My Grand son is july 4 he will be 21 . he was only 4 lb when he was born & you should see him now
    big guy .

    Happy bday to you and your grandson! I also have a nephew who was very low birth weight, born 6 weeks premature, and had to remain in neonatal ICU for weeks. He is now 18, just graduated from high school, registered for college this Fall, was on a swim team in high school, plays in a rock band with his cousin, and is now tall for his age, almost as tall as his dad.

    Its truly amazing what medical science can do now! As long as healthcare reform never results in medical rationing that only helps the strongest and healthiest babies. Will they still do as much for such babies as these who can grow up to be just as much contributing members of society? (Of course, we also have to pay for the healthcare of children of foreign nationals who illegally sneak into our country, so maybe there won't be enough d@m money to help our own children also.)
