Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Blocks E-Verify Amendment

UPDATE: Earlier today, Senate Minorty Leader Mitch McConnell tried to add Sen. Jeff Sessions E-Verify amendment that would extend the program for five more years onto the Omnibus Appropriations bill currently being debated in the Senate. But Reid blocked McConnell's attempt to add the amendment and any chance for a possible roll call vote.

For the past several months, certain Members of Congress have been using the extension of E-Verify as a bargaining chip. But now, it's time for Congress to stop fooling around by using E-Verify as a political football. Millions of unemployed Americans are waiting on E-Verify to open up a job for them.

Reps. Brian Bilbray and Heath Shuler have written a letter addressed to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader John Boehner, urging them to extend E-Verify for 10 years. Call your Rep. NOW at 202- 224-3121, telling them to sign the letter.

Recently, a constituent of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid received a letter unveiling his support for E-Verify. Fax your two Senators NOW urging them to extend E-Verify and test the statement made by Sen. Reid.

Reid is a traitor! He wants that cheap, illegal-invader labor for all his nevada hotels and casinos!

I called Reid's office and I am told that while the amendment has been denied because it came in too late, E-Verify has actually been extended to September. We are talking the omnibus bill aren't we?

Cut Federal Funding by the Unemployment Rate for all States. Give the MONEY to us, reduce our taxes.

Apparently the company line at Reid's office is that he strongly supports E-verify and the American worker..I was told he wants it to pass and he hopes to extend it for another 6 months. Yeah right...same old game. keep calling.

"Yeah right" is right! Once again, reid is talking out of both sides of his mouth! I will call again!

Wife and I both called they are telling us that the reason he would not let it be voted on because its allready included in the bill I asked how long it was extended she told me indefinetly.I told her that was news to me and every one at alipac.What a scoundrel reid is.I am willing to bet that the hag from la raza stormed into his office this a.m. to remind him who his master is with whip in hand.

so this means he will extend it six month and then in late august we have to go through with the calling all over again??
