Help with new Senator/Rep listing
I have been working on a list of Senators & Representatives that seem to take a tough stand on immigration issues. I would appreciate any help to edit or add names & comments.
This is not a perfect list. Just names I started, then it grew with names & comments added by others on this forum. If no comment on some at this time it just means I do not know any details of their stand, but their name is here because they took a strong general stand.
I hope we can add many more names.
Also, maybe should have names of people that are not tough... but close and need a little shove to get them on the right path.
Representatives
Dana Rohrabacher (R) California (Tough on border security & illegal employer punishment, opposed to compromise bill.)
Pete King (R) New York (One of the best. Opposes amnesty, tough on border security & illegal employer punishment.)
F. James Sensenbrenner (R) Wisconsin (One of the best. Opposes amnesty, tough on border security & illegal employer punishment.)
Richard Baker (R) Louisiana
Bobby Jindal (R) Louisiana
Tom Tancredo (R) Colorado (One of the best. Opposes amnesty, tough on border security & illegal employer punishment.)
Jones- North (R) North Carolina
Steve King (R) Iowa (Absolutely opposed to amnesty.)
J.D. Hayworth (R) AZ (Strong opponent of amnesty and pushing the fence.)
Senators
John Cornyn (R) Texas
McConnell (R) Kentucky
John Kyl (R) Arizona (Very tough on border security.)
Nelson (D) Florida (Tough on border security. Proposed border fence.)
Vitter- Louisiana
Jeff Sessions (R) Alabama (against compromise bill. Tough on border security.)
Chuck Grassley (R) Iowa (Opposed to amnesty ("any form of it". Tough on border security.)
Debbie Stabenow (D) MI (Has a strong amendment. If it is going to be some miserable compromise she put some serious teeth in it.)
