According to President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder, the Justice Department is currently in the process of deciding whether or not to file suit over Arizona's controversial immigration law, which Mr. Obama has called "misguided" and potentially discriminatory.
According to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, however, the decision has already been made.
"President Obama has spoken out against the law because he thinks that the federal government should be determining immigration policy," she said in an interview with an Ecuadorean television station flagged by The Right Scoop. "And the Justice Department, under his direction, will be bringing a lawsuit against the act."
The Arizona law, which would go into effect in July, requires immigrants in the state to carry documents verifying their immigration status and requires police officers to question a person about his or her immigration status during a "lawful stop" if there is "reasonable suspicion" that person may be in the country illegally.
Holder has indicated that he believes "the law is an unfortunate one that will be subject to potential abuse" and said that the Justice Department is "considering a court challenge."
It is not clear whether Clinton was just making a prediction or whether she was getting ahead of a planned announcement by the administration. The Justice Department said today it is continuing to review the law.

Hillary Clinton: Yes, Obama is filing a lawsuit against the Arizona law
JUN. 17, 2010 7:21 AM BY

Hillary Clinton was interviewed by NTN24 out of Quito, Ecuador on June 8, and was asked about how the Obama administration was handling the Arizona law. She answered frankly, that the justice department, under Obama’s direction, will bring a lawsuit against the Arizona law.
I thought they were still looking at the law. I didn’t realize they had already decided to challenge it in court. Kinda makes me wonder if that was the plan all along, especially since this was just a few days after he met with Gov. Brewer:

It looks like Ecuador took Hillary's hint and joined the Obama lawsuit against against the State of Arizona.
Obama Justice Department teams up with eleven countries to sue Arizona
October 7, 2010 by Contributor Leave a Comment
While Obama goes on another junket to India, America is burning down.
Obama’s Justice department has teamed up with Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Chile to pummel Arizona into submission.
Can you blame Arizonans who question where Obama’s loyalties reside? What right do foreign countries have to meddle in a local issues?
Nevertheless Obama is encouraging these countries to attack Arizona. Not only is Arizona defending itself against a hostile Federal government but it now has to take on eleven foreign countries and their resources.
The country is falling apart. Federal tax receipts are down by 50%. Residential and commercial real estate is in a state of collapse going much lower. Pensions are short trillions of dollars. 80% of states are flat broke. The dollar is also in a state of collapse because world markets have lost confidence in Obama’s abilities to manage the country’s finances. Obama’s staff is abondonning him in droves. The congress refuses to pass a budget and the business world has no idea what the tax policy is. American business is paralyzed. The state of American health care is in shambles.
Let’s not forget also that the real u-6 unemployment rate is 18.5%.
And true to form, when the going gets tough, Obama goes on yet another junket as far away from America as possible this time to India. Dpn’t you think with all these collosal failures the President might stay home a fix these problems.
The problem is that this President is a PINO- president in name only. He is not presidential material. At the slightest sign of trouble he runs from his failures. He knows how to bully Arizonans with delight but he cracks at the slightest signs or responsibility or accountability.
It is not only Obama’s advisers who are jumping ship, but it appears that Obama has jumped ship and abandoned the country.
“ Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer slams ‘foreign interference’ in immigration lawsuit

Politico
In a new twist in the fight over Arizona’s immigration law, Republican Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday asked a federal court to disallow foreign governments from joining the U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit to overturn the law.
The move comes in response to a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling issued Monday, allowing nearly a dozen Latin American countries — Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Chile — to submit friend-of-the-court briefs in Justice’s challenge to SB 1070, which Brewer signed into law in April and is considered one of the nation’s toughest immigration-enforcement measures.” More…
