Breaking...CBS News reports ATF agent accuses agency of pushing guns to cartels

A new report on CBS News this evening features another ATF agent who is alleging that the agency pushed U.S. gun dealers to sell firearms to the Mexican drug cartels, guns that are then used against Mexican citizens and Americans.

At least one American Border Patriol agent was killed by one of the guns walked to Mexico by the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives). Hundreds of Mexicans have been slaughtered by the cartels in recent years, violence that is now spilling over into the the U.S. near the southern border.

The official explanation for the 'gun walking' program is that the ATF sent the guns to Mexico in order to track them as they were funneled to the cartels, thereby allowing the U.S. to conduct surveillance on Mexican criminals.

But the facts show a more sinister rationale--bribes involving multi-thousands of dollars, and, an attempt by the Obama Administration, namely, the Holder Justice Department to 'prove' that U.S. guns are arming the Mexican drug cartels as a means of making a case for a new round of restrictive gun control in America.

One gun dealer in Arizona reported that ATF agents paid him money to allow 'straw purchases' of firearms for the purpose of transporting the guns to Mexico. The sales were used by the Justice Department to claim that more controls are needed on U.S. gun dealers.

Both the House and the Senate are currently investigating the scandal--Charles Grassley in the Senate, and Darrell Issa in the House. Grassley reports that requests for information have been met with stonewalling on the part of the Holder Justice Department.

Tonight's segment on CBS News indicates that the scandal is much broader than anyone realized when it was first disclosed. Other government agencies were allegedly aware of the gun walking scandal. The ATF agent interviewed by CBS this evening is claiming that desiite his work to curtail the mayhem of the Mexican cartels he was ordered to allow more firearms to flow to the gangs. The agent goes further to allege that DHS, USMS, DEA, AUSA, and ICE were all aware of the illegal program.

Armed with the new information, Congress pressed Holder, to which he responded by saying, 'We cannot allow guns to be walked into Mexico.'

But in fact, they did, and his agency apparently was an accomplice to the deed.

ATF gunwalking scandal: Second agent speaks out

ATF allegedly encouraged U.S. gun sales to Mexican drug traffickers -- Now there's evidence other agencies knew about program

    (CBS News)

WASHINGTON - South of El Paso, Texas, on Mexico's side of the border, lies Juarez - the most dangerous city in the world. CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports ATF Special Agent Rene Jaquez has been stationed there for the past year, trying to keep U.S. guns from being trafficked into Mexico.

"That's what we do as an agency," Jaquez said. "ATF's primary mission is to make sure that we curtail gun trafficking."

That's why Jaquez tells CBS News he was so alarmed to hear his own agency may have done the opposite: encouraged U.S. gun dealers to sell to suspected traffickers for Mexico's drug cartels. Apparently, ATF hoped that letting weapons "walk" onto the street - to see where they'd end up - would help them take down a cartel.

Jaquez is so opposed to the strategy, he's speaking out. "You don't let guns walk. I've never let a gun walk."

Yet ATF agents told us they were ordered to let thousands of weapons walk. Two of them, assault rifles, were later found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in Arizona last December. Another gunrunning suspect under ATF surveillance was linked to the shooting of Customs Agent Jaime Zapata. And sources say many more "walked" weapons turned up at Mexican crime scenes.

Jaquez said, "I think this incidence is probably one of the darkest days in ATF's history."

But ATF wasn't working alone on the case known as "Fast and Furious." Documents show ATF had conference calls with "DHS" (Homeland Security). "USMS" (U.S. Marshals) and DEA. An "ICE," or Customs agent, was on ATF's Fast and Furious team. They were advised by an "AUSA," or Assistant U.S. Attorney under the Justice Department.

Justice Department head Eric Holder said the inspector general is investigating. "The aim of the ATF is to try to stop the flow of guns. I think they do a good job in that regard. Questions have been raised by ATF agents about the way in which some of these operations have been conducted. I think those questions have to be taken seriously, and on that basis, I've asked the inspector general to look at it."

Jaquez is second sitting ATF agent to come forward and speak out to CBS News on the controversy.

Jaquez says one of the most difficult things for him is believing that his own agency inadvertently put innocent lives at risk. Jaquez has family - uncles, aunts, father and sister - living in Mexico. "Any one of us could have been shot with one of those guns."

Jaquez says he's left wondering whether runaway violence in Mexico can be partly blamed on the agency tasked with stopping it.

Obama and Holder need to go.

As Farrakhan said, who the hell do you think you are my brotha? Looks like the Obama administration may be afraid of all the white folks who have guns. Obama, you can change the US Constitution and get rid of the 2nf Amendment. But we can get rid of YOU. Less than two years and counting and Obama, Holder,Nappy and all the rest who are doing their best to destroy this country will be sent packing.

What do you want to bet US Attorney Eric Holder was involved? Nothing would make him happier that to see our guns go away.
