Now that it's over, can someone tell me what it was about?

This bill made no sense what so ever...and the Senate blindly supporting it over the loud objections of their constituents, made even less sense. Even if you follow the money, who would benefit. I can't believe that all this was over votes. So...what was it about?

It made sense to the business community. Businesses want an abundent supply of low wage workers. Immigrants ( legal or not) typically work very hard, without any complaints.

If they would complain, you just replace them. The meat packing, hospitality, and construction industry employ thousands, if not millions of illegals.

    What is was about:
    1. For many decades, our youth, minorities, and people down on their luck have had increasing trouble finding work. This bill was about making darn sure it gets even harder, by keeping the floodgates open so that the mostly poor and undereducated laborers from our southern neighbor would continue to come fill the laborer type jobs, keeping the pay low and the workforce docile.
    2. For many years, white collar Americans have been let go by the thousands, tens of thousands, and so on, while seeing foreign workers take their places, and watching as whole professional specialties leave the country. The guestworker visas that were step one in this process would have been hugely increased, to speed up the process, leaving us all sitting in the cold and dark, wondering just what an American was supposed to do for a living.

It's about keeping a sovereign nation under rule of law. And it's not over. We've a country full of criminals, criminal advocates, and an open border with no law enforcement.

It was about sections in the bill promoting the Security and Prosperity Partnership which will destroy American soverneignty. It was about special interest groups and big business having more say in our government than the American people. It was about an invasion of Mexicans wanting to come in and take over part or all of our country and throwing us out. It was about severe dereliction of duty on the part of our elected officials to the point that our country was in jeopardy. It was about a set of laws for Americans and another set for illegal aliens. It was about our government facilitating the loss of American jobs and the loss of American jobs to illegals. It was about a level of corruptness grown so high in our government officials that they've become nonchalant about their exposure. And on the part of our president and some of our highest elected officials, I'm afraid it was actually about treason and an attempted coup of our government.

This is my take on it.

This bill was more than just a vote for amnesty for illegal aliens. This was a bill that would have been the death knell of America

The reason Bush has no intentions of securing the border is because he want's and is in the process of erasing the borders between USA, Mexico and Canada.

The powers that be want a North America Union, that is what the Security and Prosperity Partnership or SPP is about. They want the equivalent of the European Union, which would do away with our Constitution and Sovereignty.

This also involves things like the Trade Agreements NAFTA, CAFTA and the yet to be passed FTAA, which would take in all of South America.

That is why you hear so much about Chevez of Venezuela calling Bush the devil. He will not go along with the FTAA, that is why there is so much written about him being such a nasty dictator, when there are far worse in other parts of the World. He needs Venezuela and its oil to be part of FTAA. Therefore encompassing all of North America.

There was much more in this bill than most people heard about, like the Real ID that would eventually have all of the information about us in the biometrics strip. It also would enable both Mexico and Canada to be able to read it.

My conclusion and I have been following this for many years, it is marching us to ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.

This Bill is about eliminating the middle class. It gives a firm bases for the two class society, the rich and the poor. It allows rich, either American citizens or people legally operating businesses from other countries. to pay their employees wages below the proverty level and without benefits.

This bill is about sending our good paying jobs to other countries and paying people to work in our country for chump change. Not enough income to support a family.

This bill is about not being able to afford to buy or build American made products and only being able to shop at Walmart.

This bill is about not believing in the American Dream or the ability to obtain it.

This bill is about turning us into living like we are in a third world country.

This bill is about people not obeying our laws and having a government that will not enforce our laws.

This bill is about how our government is not protecting our country.

This bill is about how our children are being left without their Mom or Dad at home because it take more than two incomes to support a family. Most families with children are work three jobs or more.

This bill is about drug dealers having full rain to deal drugs to our children and our children becoming addicted to drugs and their parents not having the money to pay for rehab, so our children end up dead or in prisons.

This bill is about our children having a substandard education. Because we can't afford to educate more and more children. Especially, when their parents aren't paying adquate taxes to support the educational process.

This bill is about our prisons being overfilled and our streets being filled with early releases.

This bill is about our judges not being able to sentence criminals correctly, because of over crowded prisons.

This bill is about our security and our freedom to walk our streets safely.

This bill effects our social security.

This bill effects our health care and our inability to afford health care for everyone.

This bill effect all the homeless that can't afford a place to live.

This bill makes us more dependant that ever on the government.

This bill is about keeping us submissive and accepting of whatever the government does, even if we know it is wrong.

You know I love people. But, we have to be sensible. We can't financially afford anymore people in our Country. We need to clean up the mess we are in first. We need our fences built and guarded and we need a government that will enforce our laws. Libertybell

    Didn't work though, did it?

The whole deal boils down to $$$$$$$$! It takes money to make money, so that leaves the poor and many of the middle class out of luck. When the middle class is gone, the elite like bushie and his family can do whatever they want because the poor will be so busy working to put food on the table and a roof overhead. We're almost there now as it is!

Thank you all for your responses. I agree with everything everyone said...but...what was in it for Bush...for Reid...?
Why would someone put themselves in that position if not for PERSONAL gain? I really think the only reason is money...but from whom and to whom?

The $$$$$ comes from corporations and is donated to politians. Even after they leave office, they can make millions of dollars just giving speeches. You and I don't pay to hear these speeches, but corproate america. Americans don't fincance political campaigns. Political action committies do. The money come from special interests, such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
