Homestead Police Officer Arrested Used Fake ID

This one does not surprise me especially considering some police department's hiring policies. This area is predominently Hispanic and full of illegals. If you are a white non Hispanic don't think you have a hope of getting any job in the City of Miami Police Department. Just read their job postings and it tells you that you get extra points if you speak Spanish or Creole. I am sure it is the same in many of the other predominently Hispanic and/or Haitian cities.

A Homestead police officer was arrested Friday, accused of falsifying documents to obtain U.S. citizenship.

Authorities charged Jose Villarreal, 31, with official misconduct, uttering forged instruments and false official statements.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Villarreal, who was born in Mexico, turned in a birth certificate with false information about his birthday, his middle name and his mother's name. He later applied for a law enforcement certification, using a copy of his citizenship certificate, which authorities say he falsely obtained.

``He was serving in a law enforcement position, he had to take an oath the information he provided to obtain certification was accurate and true, which wasn't the case,'' said Kristen Chernosky, a FDLE spokeswoman.

Villarreal, who was hired by Homestead police in 2006, has been placed on administrative leave with pay, said Capt. Ed Bowe, a Homestead police spokesman.

``It's always a disappointment for any department when a police officer is arrested,'' said Bowe, saying he had limited information because FDLE conducted the investigation.

Since he was in the country illegally, he does not meet the qualifications to be an officer, the arrest report said. Police officers must have U.S. citizenship to work on the force.

The "truth" is irrelevant to an illegal alien, they prove they are liars every time they use fake/stolen ID.

WHy is he on leave with pay? He just committed a deportable offense!

Shouldn't be hard for him to get a job as a cop in mexico.

Thequestion they should be asking is who this guy really is, what's his background, is he working for the cartels or what.

And how many more of them are there?

Who else would have a better reason to infiltrate a police department than someone working for a criminal organization?

    Well hi NB!!
    Didn't recognize your new avi!!

Back on topic......I remember reading something not too long ago here about those working for gangs and cartels beginning to worm their way into the BP.

It wouldn't shock me if they begin discovering those with terrorist intent as well.

As a person who both went through the immigration process as well as applying for jobs in law enforcement there are 2 things that I have big questions about. First of all the immigration part. Did he use the same information for both his greencard and citizenship? If he didn't then he should have been caught. The only difference between the applications is for citizenship you need to prove your legal residency and you don't need to go for a physical. On the law enforcement side you go for a polygraph test and many of the questions are standardized and many departments use the same person to administer them. I have gone through them and there is a questionnaires they give you and they ask you questions about it. Then they give you the polygraph test. There are 3 questions where he should have been caught. Have you ever lied on a sworn affidative? Are you deliberately with holding information? Have you ever done anything where you can be arrested if caught? Either this guy is a good liar or the person administering the test helped him. If you do the polygraph where they have the old set up with lots of wires there is almost no way to not get caught lying. If they used the voice stress test then it is possible but even then with more than one question he should have been caught.
