The House Isn't Fond Of Immigration Bill Either

Just heard on CNN that even if the Senate took up this immigration bill again and got it passed, chances of getting it through the House are slim, as the opponents there are even more dug in againt it.

    Hopefully, it never gets there.

I know Brian Bilbray is staunchly against this bill (at least I have ONE Guy in my state/district I can be proud of).

Did they give any other details?
I know that Bilbray is chairman of the immigration reform caucus(?) and has recruited A LOT of fellow House members lately.

Here is a link to the IRC with a list of members. Tom Tancredo used to chairman, now it's Rep. Bilbray:

I do remember reading something about a week or two ago that said the House was just waiting to kill this bill with a blue slip or something.

Sounds like the House does not like this bill at all.

if that is the case, we still have to push forward with our efforts and make our voices heard LOUD and clear to the Senators.

Now is not the time to get comfortable!

Time to fight like there is no tomorrow!!!

That was all I caught. I got in on this report just as it started and didn't even get to catch the reporter's name.

But I have known the feeling in the House for a while, anyway, from talking to Bill Sali's office. After last year, there is still a lot of opposition. Just because the majority changed, the feelings are the same. Otherwise, I think we would've seen Flake and Guiteirez bring their amnesty bill up by now.

Still need to keep an eye on it as we fight for security and enforcement first.

    So is my Rep!........

    His name is Duncan Hunter

Yes, I have known this for a while. If this gets out of the Senate, the House will destroy it, and thats a big if at that.
Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.

I would like to read on the headlines that "grassroots" groups killed the bill, and not that the House had to kill it for us.

We have a great opportunity to make history. Never has a bill supported by the president and most Democrats, been killed by grassroots groups.

    Lets make it happen!
