House Republican Backs Hillary Clinton, Calling Donald Trump ‘Unfit to Serve’

Representative Richard Hanna, Republican of New York, broke ranks with his party to endorse Hillary Clinton for president on Tuesday, denouncing Donald J. Trump’s attacks on the Muslim parents of a soldier killed in Iraq and calling Mr. Trump “unfit to serve.”

Mr. Hanna has long said he would not support Mr. Trump in the general election. By throwing his support to Mrs. Clinton, he becomes the first Republican member of Congress to go beyond disavowing Mr. Trump, and join forces with the Democrats against him.

Mr. Hanna announced his plans in an interview and opinion column on Syracuse.com. He cited Mr. Trump’s disrespectful comments about the soldier’s parents, Khizr and Ghazala Khan, among the reasons for his defection.

“I was stunned by the callousness of his comments,” Mr. Hanna said. “I think Trump is a national embarrassment. Is he really the guy you want to have the nuclear codes?”

Mr. Hanna said he disagreed with Mrs. Clinton on “many issues,” but would vote for her anyway. “She stands and has stood for causes bigger than herself for a lifetime,” he said. “That matters.”

Mr. Hanna, who is retiring from Congress at the end of his term, has been a maverick within the Republican Party since his election in 2010. He drew a serious primary challenger from the right in 2014 in large part because of his vocal support for same-sex marriage.

But his support for Mrs. Clinton is another sign of the extraordinary dissatisfaction with Mr. Trump within the Republican Party’s elected ranks, especially as he forges ahead in his feud with the Khan family.

Mr. Hanna’s announcement also came as the Trump campaign canceled a planned stop Thursday in Plattsburgh, N.Y., an upstate city north of Mr. Hanna’s district. Mr. Trump has continued to toy with competing in New York as a general election target, despite its overwhelmingly Democratic electorate.

I completely trust Donald Trump with our nuclear codes. I completely trust Donald Trump with all the major important even crucial decisions of being a great President of the United States. Who I do not trust are Republicans who are outside the will of the people and want to make news splashes as they advertise that they are really Democrats in Republican attire, that when the going gets tough, they jump ship, that they are STUPID PEOPLE, who have condemned a good man, a great American candidate for President based on dishonest reporting and are voting for Hillary Clinton because this good man responded to an attack on him by a pair of Muslim immigration hustlers, lining their pockets off of visa fees helping foreign Muslims migrate to the United States. The fact that they have a son who died in Iraq is irrelevant. That's not why they spoke at the Democratic Convention and attacked Trump. They attacked Trump over his Muslim bad that would shut down their visa and other immigration legal services fees the collect flooding our country with people we don't need, don't want and who potentially and we know in fact in many cases pose a terrorist threat to the United States and the American People.

SHAME ON YOU HANNA, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU. You are a wolf in sheep's clothing, now exposed.

His grade is "D" at NumbersUSA. These Republicans show little concern for the American worker when they support foreign citizens. We have large numbers of representatives of other nations in Congress. They forgot about us.

They forgot about us because they didn't give a damn about us to begin with. I hope they all defect and expose themselves so votes know whose asses to kick out of this Congress.

According to CNN, Hanna is retiring so if that's true, thank goodness this rat will soon be out of Congress.
