Poll: Boehner now less popular than Pelosi

By Justin Sink | The Hill

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) now ranks as the least-liked congressional leader, with just 31 percent of voters holding a positive opinion of the Republican leader and more than half — 51 percent — saying they view the Ohio congressman unfavorably.

That's the first time in several years that Boehner has slipped below House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in the Rasmussen survey. The Democratic leader held a 37 percent favorability rating in the poll.

The poll was released Friday, just hours after Boehner was unable to rally Republican support behind his "Plan B" proposal, intended to secure additional leverage in "fiscal cliff" negotiations with President Obama. And it comes just a day after President Obama's approval rating in the Gallup daily tracking poll hit 56 percent, the highest mark for the president since October 2009.Boehner's slipping popularity likely comes from voters' wariness with Republicans as the deadline to reach a debt deal approaches.'

Wish we had a clue who might replace Boehner. Be nice to get him out of there!

Tea Party writer urges GOP ‘civil war’

As reported in recent weeks here on SNN, the revolt against Republican leader John Boehner appears to be gaining momentum.

Indeed, many Tea Party types are fed up with the GOP elites who continually sell out the rank-and-file conservative voters who support the party. Perhaps this has contributed to the fact that a quarter of Republicans across the US now support secession and half of Georgia Republicans favour independence. The latest indication that conservatives within the GOP are ready and willingly to duke it out with their party’s moderate and liberal leaders comes from John Wiseman at Tea Party Nation. The title of his piece says it all: ‘Epiphanies From Last Week, Let’s Get The Inevitable GOP Civil War Underway.’

    He writes:
Conservatives, of our many stripes make up 68% of the GOP voting bloc, while Moderate or Liberal Republicans only tally 32% of the party’s voters. The problem is that the smaller 32% make up the power base of the party, and they ain’t looking to change their positions to accommodate us pesky small government types. As a matter of fact, far from attempting to reach out to us, I have heard nothing but derision coming from them since Mitt Romney managed to so spectacularly snatch defeat from the jaws of victory 7 short weeks ago. They view us as losers, fringe elements of a knuckle dragging freak show, who’s [sic] votes are assumed, and voices disliked. From their perspective, we have no where else to go.
…The national Republican Brand right now is a mess. John Boehner and the party apparatchiks are trying their level best to cajole the rest of us, actual GOP voters, into falling in line and just going along with their message of Democrat Lite. They are telling us via every microphone in existence in this hemisphere, that we can not afford a Republican civil war at the moment, that the Obama agenda will move forward unopposed should we insist on a party that actually shares our values to represent us.
I say, what’s the difference? If the Obama agenda moves forward as is anyhow, even with chosen leadership in tact, how on Earth is that any better? We need this civil war, between the Conservatives and the Moderates, and we should have it out as soon as possible. If the GOP does not survive, then so be it. They have long ago forsaken us all anyhow.

    Will Boehner Resign?....If So, When?
Posted by Michael CHILDS, Admin II on January 2, 2013 at 7:08pm in Patriot Action Alerts

    Patriot Update,
Reports are starting to surface that John Boehner will resign as Speaker of the House later today. With calls coming in hot and heavy for someone else to take his place, this could be a way for Boehner to step aside with some dignity.

Ron Meyer Jr., spokesperson for the activist group American Majority Action, Appeared on MSNBC with Martin Bashir where he said that he is hearing rumors form reliable sources that House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) will resign the speakership tonight.

“We need a new Speaker,” Meyer said. “There are serious rumors that at the conference tonight, at 5 o’clock, John Boehner will announce to the conference that he is resigning as Speaker of the House.”

HOW ABOUT MICHELLE BACHMANN? She is not afraid of Obama or Pelosi and she will continue the investigations on FAST AND FURIOUS and the BEBGHAZI COVER-UP.

As much as I dislike him, I am almost scared to death to find out who is going to replace him! Newt would be good for the job, as far as taking them on, but I am not sure where his actual loyalties fall, in this day and time. He talks a good game, but in the final analysis, I believe he will fall in with the chief just like the rest of them appear to be doing lately. We don't have real 'representation' in government anymore, people. We are the 'problem' that the elite wants to "solve" by "making it disappear"...like the Ambassador in Benghazi!

    ================================================== ====

    International Business Times
John Boehner’s speakership is believed to be on the line after his Republican counterparts spurned his alternative fiscal cliff plan Thursday evening, damaging his credibility and suggesting to the nation that he doesn't have strong support in the House. Now experts suspect he could resign before the Jan. 3 election for Speaker.
Boehner can no longer pretend to be an effective leader in the House of Representatives. He should man up, step up or step down, and yield his gavel to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, who is both charming & courageous, principled & pulchritudinous. She will fight for the Right.

I'll be very surprised if Boehner refuses/retires. Just wishful thinking, He may be considering it though. Who wouldn't? What Speaker of the House wants to go down in history as the leader of the worst House of Representatives in history?

I hope the real conservatives in Congress throw John Boehner out of the Speakership today. We will see.

...and the new SOTH is...really? Boehner? Can't we do better than shooting ourselves in the foot?

I don't want to associate myself with the GOP right now....the GOP is setting itself up to lose the majority in the House in 2014.

Boehner is weak. I don't give a rat's rear end if he told Reid to 'F' himself...he and many other RINO's have no spine.

What I have feared would happen is happening...once the Dems went Socialist/Commie, I feared the GOP would go liberal...and it is getting there.

    New party anyone?
