How to build those private fences?
Wiliam:
This bit of advice is for the minuteman groups building the private fences.
They should build some of these fences with brick and concrete and when they are through invite the press to view the fences. Why?
These brick fences should include broken bits of glass bottles cemented into the very top of these fences! Does this sound mean and cruel? To an extent this does sound cruel and mean but last week in Bogota, Colombia I saw brick fences, better said walls, built exactly this way. Concrete is laid at the very top and literally thousands of pieces of broken glass 2 to 3 inches long are cemented into the top UPWARD to deter anybody thinking of breaking into the factory behind the wall.
THIS IS A COMMON PRACTICE IN LATIN AMERICA AND WHEN FOX AND CO. COMPLAIN YOU CAN STICK IT BACK IN THEIR FACES! I have seen this in Honduras too a block from the orphanage I worked at in the late 80's. This is a common security practice in Latin America and I fully suggest you do this somewhere in AZ to prove a point! It is one heck of a deterent. Imaginee if those walls at San Diego had this glass? Butt of course Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, La Raza etc will complain right? The Democrats want to give the country away and the Republicans want to sell it?

Hi adelantepresidente2,
Cruel? No way. What you're suggesting is INDUSTRY STANDARD.
They're not being forced or entrapped to try to cross it.
Standards for chain link security fences have either 4 lengths of barbwire, the "V" at the top configuration with barb wire, or coils of razorwire. A few years ago I had occasion to stay at a hotel in Baton Rouge which was protected with the 8 ft high chain link and razor-wire configuration. This was to protect the hotel and parking lot from street gangs.
I think this is what you're referring to:
Nice!! We could say that the broken glass
is symbolic of the trash and broken bottles the
illegals strew all over the place.
Here's some nice razor wire fences...
Nice, pretty setting, cool fence.
Here's another real nice one, probably a bit expensive.
Even a drunk or drugged-up illegal might think twice before attempting this one.
Here's a regular industry standard razor wire linear configuration.
This is nice, but I think the circular ones are nicer, and probably
are a better deterrent.
adelantepresidente2, don't get me wrong, I didn't mean to steal your thunder by posting a bunch of graphics... These are so cool, I just had to do it.
Dear Moderator, I'm not advocating anything beyond that which is industry standard. I have nothing but pure thoughts as I admire those fences.

a fence is only cruel if someone tries to cross it -- then it's at their own perile, much like an alarm and home security system.

Who is in control?
What should be done is to build a wall from San Diego to Brownsville, electrify it and place landmines on the US side (inside a no-man's land extending 100 yards from the border) along with shrapnel throwing devices as was with the Berlin Wall.
