    Scary how much it describes us now. Scary how far off the roadmap we have drifted -- Most of it has happened within the last 30 years .

    One can only pray the good people of this country will rise up one more time to defend it against all these forces -- if not, we'd better all start praying and getting ready for the next life, because the one here will be hell on earth.

    The recurring theme here is government intervention in our daily lives. As government starts inserting itself into the daily lives of its' citizens, a myriad of subtle problems begin to arise. Because the initial intervention generates problems and unintended side effects, more intervention is required. There is no end - unless you remove the institutions that allow this intervention to continue.

    The role of government in America is to protect the borders, settle disputes between citizens, and a few other specifically defined tasks. All other components of daily life are left to the states and to the individual.
