The Canadian and Australian prime ministers expressed concern at unconfirmed reports that said Iran may force non-Muslims to wear colored badges in public so they can be identified.

The National Post newspaper reported Friday, citing human rights groups, that Iran's parliament passed a law this week that sets a public dress code and requires non-Muslims to wear a special insignia.

Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear a yellow, red or blue strip of cloth, respectively, on the front of their clothes, according to the newspaper.

"Anything of that kind would be totally repugnant to civilized countries, if it's the case, and something that would just further indicate to me the nature of this regime," Australia's Prime Minister John Howard told reporters during an official visit to Ottawa.

"It would be appalling," he added.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said he had "only seen reports" about the law but commented he would not be surprised by them.

"Unfortunately, we have seen enough already from the Iranian regime to suggest that it is very capable of this kind of action," he said.

"It think it boggles the mind that any regime on the face of the earth would want to do anything that could remind people of Nazi Germany," he added.

"The fact that such a measure could even be contemplated, I think, is absolutely abhorent."

Earlier, Harper's parliamentary secretary, Jason Kenney, told the House of Commons that Canadian officials were trying to verify the claims and said Ottawa is "deeply concerned".

"Should these reports turn out to be true, this government will condemn in the strongest terms possible this kind of revisiting of the darkest period of the last century. It is something that the entire civilized world should condemn," Kenney said.


Now this is scary. I tell you the world is going to he** in a handbasket.

As far as war propaganda to rally ppl into the (presumably) soon bombing and marching of kids into Iran goes, as has been pushed for by certain chosen interested parties openly for awhile now - it all sounds too good to be true(kind of like the claims regarding Saddams WMD's), and they're not exactly reporting it as fact here.

I guess this old Indian is not the only one that hears the drums beating. This is just what we need isn't it, an issue like we have with the illegal aliens, to divert our attention away from this little crazy man in Iran who has stated he, personally, wants to be the one who starts the apocalypse ! My mother use to tell us kids, even when we were small, about the "end times" (she didn't believe in sparing our feelings) we use to ask her"where will our country be in that fight? She would say from what she could read in the bible about that, our country didn't seem to factor in. Could it be that our ountry will be so overwhelmed with our own problems namely illegal aliens and our own stupid leaders,that we are weakened and unable to even fight at that time? I could never understand her reasoning, our country was so strong a world power how could that be? Now I am beginning to understand how that could come to pass! The Jews and the Christians to wear a mark of identification, A naoional ID here "to keep up with us", America in chaos, hated by most, increasingly isolated. I will no longer laugh at my old mothers "end time stories". I am not a kook talking about doom and gloom here, I think most of us have heard these stories to, it just makes me want to fight that much harder for what we believe in. I heard the story this morning on the news about Iran wanting to mark the jews and christians and immediately felt a kind of Deja View, thinking of the jewish people having to wear the Star of David during Hitlers regime, it is hard to imagine that we are going to be forced to relive those times again.

I have also heard about this but i cant confirm any where and if it s true there is going to be problems, the world isnt going to tolerate such acts.
