You need 218 to stand firm. Bush may try to use a patsy coalition of mostly D and some R to get it through the house so he can blame the D.
Remember 245i in 2002? That is why you have to hold the majority party at large responsible because amnesty can not pass if the majority does not allow it to pass no matter to who the patsies may be. The price of amnesty should be that the majority party loses the house and senate.(although the senate will be harder since only 1/3 is up for re-election) I will vote against every R on the ballot on election day of amnesty passes.
As far as who has stood firm to this point I will very respectfully say that we may have different definitions of what standing firm means. With that being said I will say that not ONE R in the house or senate has stood firm on this issue. Not ONE. To anyone who may disagree with me I will respectfully ask if you and/or any of your associates were at the RNC convention in 2004 in Manhattan when this issue was "supposed" to be addressed? If yes, you already know what I am talking about.

If you've read anything that I've written you'll know that I trust not one of them, lol. In this we agree.
However, these guys need to see that they have support AND votes if they stand firm. We have to start somewhere and that's the best we've got....a chink in the armour. We can eat the elephant one bite at a time. This is the best place to start besides our own personal Reps.

I will not support a single R if amnesty passes. It will only take a small group of R's to do this and this may stop amnesty.
Open letter to Congressional Republicans who “say” they oppose AMNESTY for illegal aliens
Not ONE of you is proven in the moment of heat.
The time has come for you to show what you are made of.
Form a coalition of Congressman/woman and go to Speaker Hastert and TELL him that if tries to force through amnesty that you have a coalition that will SWITCH PARTIES to independent causing the Republicans to lose the majority and electing Congresswoman Pelosi as Speaker of the House. When this happens you will have a 3 party House and you may end up working on what you should be working on. IMPEACHMENT.
Failure to do so demonstrates that you are a fraud and are unworthy of support for re-election and may only postpone the republicans losing the House until election day. The PRICE of amnesty is republicans losing the House and betrayed conservatives can make that happen even with what you think are gerrymandered districts!!!!!!!Remember the 2002 mid term elections? It was a lot of close wins for republicans decided by ONLY 1.5% of the simple electorate. If your base don’t show up and vote R you lose the House even with your gerrymandered district lines.

We're trying to STOP amnesty. I also will not support anyone who supports amnesty.
Please re-read my comments........this is a group of Reps that need support now TO STAND UP AGAINST THE SENATE and prevent amnesty in any form.
