    Political Landscape Changes for Christians
Huckabee, Keyes and Paul Are Top Options for Religious Conservatives

    Contact: Rev. Schenck, 703-447-7686

MEDIA ADVISORY, Feb. 8 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), acting as a private citizen, released this statement today after attending yesterday's Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, DC, that included many personal conversations with conservative leaders:

"For Evangelical and moral conservatives, the outcome of Super Tuesday and subsequent events changes the political landscape considerably. On the Democratic side, Barack Obama has done something Hillary Clinton once tried, pretending to reach out to pro-lifers and others to get us to cross over. No matter how sincere he may be, and that is doubtful, the Democratic machinery and platform remain utterly committed to denying unborn children their most basic God-given human right, the Right to Life. Senators Obama and Clinton remain morally unacceptable to those who believe in the sanctity of life, the sanctity of marriage and the public acknowledgment of God.

"On the Republican side, the suspension of Mitt Romney's campaign changes the equation and allows Mike Huckabee to be freed of the McCain political machine. John McCain is still the least desirable candidate for moral and social conservatives. Senator McCain's inside circle of advisors includes those who have consistently worked against our most deeply held convictions and the Constitution's must fundamental guarantees.

"Notwithstanding the media hype, the best course now is for religious, moral and social conservatives to hold to their convictions and vote their consciences no matter what the party elitists dictate. Supporters of Mike Huckabee, Alan Keyes, Ron Paul and other than establishment party candidates should hold firm. Make no mistake about it, conservatives who climb aboard the U.S.S. McCain risk being unceremoniously thrown overboard when they are no longer useful.
"This will be a difficult presidential contest for religious, moral and social conservatives. We will need to stay fully informed, prayerful and careful about our actions. Most importantly, we must not be beguiled by the party elitists who have priorities other than the best interests of our nation and civilization. Christian citizens must be strong and wise as we approach this enormously consequential process."

Reverend Rob Schenck released this statement in his capacity as a private citizen. For identification purposes only, Schenck is president of Faith and Action in the Nation's Capital, chairman of the Committee on Church and Society for the Evangelical Church Alliance and co-founder of the annual National Memorial for the Pre-born and their Mothers and Fathers, the only pro-life worship service held inside the U.S. Capitol complex in Washington, DC.
