    Huckabee Liberal on Immigration

    http://www.standardnewswire.com/news/742931899.html

    Huckabee Liberal on Immigration

    Federal Level:

2006: Supported President Bush's immigration plan and claimed that opposition to Bush's proposal was driven by "racism or nativism" and that it wasn't amnesty. (Ralph Hallow, "Huckabee 'Serious' About Presidency," Washington Times, 5/17/06)

Wrote in his 2007 book that implementing strict enforcement of immigration laws "would be sheer folly" and that it made sense to give "those here illegally a process through which they pay a reasonable fine in admission of their guilt for the past infraction of violating our border laws and agree to adhere to a pathway toward legal status and citizenship." (Mike Huckabee, From Hope to Higher Ground, 2007, p. 117-11

    In Arkansas:

As Governor, Huckabee fought for in-state tuition and taxpayer funded scholarships for illegal immigrants. He opposed legislation to require proof of citizenship in order to obtain public benefits and to vote. He vocally opposed a raid on a factory in Arkansas that employed illegal immigrants. And he led an effort to bring a Mexican Consulate to Arkansas - one of the main functions of the Consulate would be to issue identification cards to Mexicans living, both legally and illegally, in the U.S.

Championed an effort in Arkansas to give in-state tuition at state colleges and taxpayer-funded scholarships to illegal immigrants, similar to the DREAM Act proposal at the federal level. (Laura Kellams, "Senators research U.S. law on aliens," Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 1/27/05)

When Republican state senators in Arkansas proposed legislation modeled after Arizona's Proposition 200 [to require proof of citizenship for voting and public benefits], "Huckabee described it as 'inflammatory ... race-baiting ... demagoguery.' He said the bill, which seeks to forbid public assistance and voting rights to illegal immigrants, 'inflames those who are racist and bigots and makes them think there's a real problem. But there's not.'" (Governor says anti-illegals measure could scare off companies like Toyota," A ssociated Press, 2/3/05)

Opposed a raid on illegal immigrants in an Arkansas poultry plant even though calls to his office were "about 1,000 to one" against his stance. (Melissa Nelson, "Huckabee Risks Political Fortunes To Denounce Immigration Raid," Associated Press, 8/5/05)

Helped lead the effort to open a Mexican Consulate in Little Rock to issue Matricula Consular cards to Mexicans living in the U.S. (including those in the U.S. illegally). Many banks, including some in Arkansas, accept the card as a valid form of identification. (Jon Gambrell, "Ark. Candidates Criticize Mexican Matricula Cards," AP, 10/18/06)

Now that Huckabee is history, who will be the strongest on enforcement?
Who will secure the borders, prevent amnesty, and end birthright citizenship?

Huckster is not dead, that dude is getting major play in the news by the "special interest" owned MSM.

He is being pushed hard, despite lagging fundraising.

Noboyd KNOWS any truths about Huckebee. The sad thing is, he is a Pastor and he outright lies. He tells hosts and such he will end the IRS (taking Ron Paul's platform), but the Huck doesn't tell you that he wants to replace it with a fairtax that will actually be MORE detrimental to Americans... Ron Paul wants a fairtax of "0"!! Nothing.... Huckabee will just redistribute the taxes onto items. You raise the price of items, you raise the tax.. insidious.

he is LAME, but he ain't going anywhere..

Arkansans do, and even though he's being touted as the evangelical candidate, the Arkansas evangelicals I'm acquainted with would never vote for him. His name is MUD here. We'll be hearing from him again---probably as a potential Senate or House candidate in the next few years.

The Fairtax proposal is an awful idea.

The concept of a consumption-based, revenue-generating tax is intriguing, but the Huckabee/Boortz proposal for a national sales tax is a recipe for evasion, deficits and chaos.

You need to replace the current tax structure-and get rid of the loopholes, lobbyists and AMT-but you can't do it with economic gimmickry.

The concept of a VAT that Bartlett has proposed is a good starting point, but you need to make sure that it's in lieu of, not in addition to, the horrible income tax we have now. He's made a good case that you can have a VAT while eliminating the pernicious taxes that have crept into the tax code without replicating Western European economies huge tax burden.

The high VATs in Europe have to do with the political mentality of those countries' leadership, not with some inherent flaw in the VAT.

Saw him on Wolf Blitzer's show this morning and he still insists that children of illegals shouldn't be "punished" for what their parents did and should be able to apply as US citizens and pay in-state tuition.
Illegal aliens remain exempt from American laws, while they DEMAND American rights...

Huckabee has love affair with illegal aliens!

Huckabee wanted to tax Mary and Joe Sixpack, American citizens who can barely pay for their own child‘s tuition, to pay for state-funded college scholarships for illegal aliens!

This clown is a traitor! See: Huckabee plan would give aid to illegal aliens

There is a legal way for foreigners to enter our country and its not by invading our borders and then having a criminal sympathizer like Huckabee reward them by having Mary and Joe Sixpack who are Americans, taxed to pay for their children’s education.

Huckabee has a love affair with those who have invaded our borders and flip flops his position on immigration more then Hillary! Heck, in 2001 he even supported legislation to repeal a law on the books denying drivers licenses to be issued to foreign nationals who invaded our borders. Now he says something different in order to con the uninformed, just like Hillary.

HERE IS A BRIEF SUMMARY OF MIKE HUCKABEE’S POSITIONS

The truth about Huckabee is, he is a control freak and proposes to use federal power to further erode federalism, our Constitution‘s plan.

Huckabee wants to use federal power to enter the states and regulate abortions which is the very kind of tyrannical thinking which gave us Roe vs. Wade. If federalism were observed in Roe vs. Wade, we would not have had the abortion holocaust in America which has taken place since that decision. Absolute power can corrupt absolutely. Federalism, in which the people of each state maintain self determination at a state level is the best defense against an absolute power corrupting absolutely!

Huckabee also wants to use federal power to regulate marriages in every state in the union and forbid same sex “marriagesâ€

Phyllis Schlafly: Huckabee ``destroyed the conservative move

    Who is Mike Huckabee?

Phyllis Schlafly, president of the national Eagle Forum, is even more blunt. "He destroyed the conservative movement in Arkansas, and left the Republican Party a shambles," she says. "Yet some of the same evangelicals who sold us on George W. Bush as a 'compassionate conservative' are now trying to sell us on Mike Huckabee."

The sad truth is, Huckabee has used the Bible to con evangelicals, just as he uses a fraudulent tax reform plan, the alleged fair tax, to sucker in those who correctly see a need for real tax reform.

This con artist needs to be exposed for the flim flam clown he really is!

    JWK

If we can make the majority of America’s population dependent upon a monthly federal government check, [H.R.25`s ``family consumption allowance`` which Huckabee supports], we can then bribe them for their vote, keep ourselves in power, and keep the remaining portion of America’s population enslaved to pay the bills.

Chuck Baldwin: Christians beware of Huckabee!

    .
Chuck Baldwin says Christians Need To Beware Of Mike Huckabee

The article also quotes Ann Coulter:

[quote]Minton’s assertion is backed up by Daniel Larison at The American Conservative. He said, “Like his fellow presidential candidate [who recently dropped out of the race], Sen. Sam Brownback, Huckabee regards it as his Christian duty to help subvert and liberalize U.S. immigration laws. Together, they embrace the notion that fidelity to the Gospel requires privileging the interests of non-citizens over those of fellow citizens.â€
